It works very well
I give it 5 stars because it exceeded my expectations. I bought it as a simple alarm but once I used it it worked wonderfully. It's very noisy and very precise

Great item! I've been using for several years, and now just purchased hub with sensors and phone app. Highly recommend!!

Scared the Raccoon
Easy to install. Set up requires a bit of trial/effort because the remote included does not match the remote in the instruction booklet. The icons on the buttons are different than the illustration and therefore have different functions than given in the instructions. I am using this in the ceiling of an outdoor pavilion to scare away raccoons that have been doing a lot of property damage. This sensor is probably meant to detect humans much larger than a raccoon, but it did eventually sense the raccoon at about 12 ft away. The alarm sound is quite loud and stunned the raccoon for a couple seconds before running away (got it on video). The light is just a red flashing light that is not very alarming at all. I was hoping for something like a blinding strobe but couldn't find the loud alarm and flood light in one unit anywhere. I have a very sensitive camera in the same area that senses the critters quicker than this alarm does, but with the remote I can manually set off the sound alarm without going outside. The remote seems to have a good strong PIR. It works from inside closed windows, across 30ft of yard and through the pavilion curtains. Handy on these very cold winter nights.

So far, helping to outsmart the dogs....
I'm not too proud to say that I am sometimes outwitted by my dogs. Lately they have decided if the weather is unfavorable, they will slip away to a distant (thankfully tiled) room rather than brave the elements when nature calls. Very frustrating! I had tried another motion detection device which was cheap and useless. This one has worked VERY well so far. The only problem I've had is figuring out the exact field of detection. I have it set up on a chair near their preferred location. So far they've been busted three times. After the siren goes off (and it is LOUD), the dogs run to the door, their expressions saying, "OH, was I in the house? I TOTALLY meant to go to the door." Pros: Setup could not be simpler. It doesn't require mounting (I have set it on table, chairs, etc., trying for best position). Does come with mounting hardware if you're so inclined. Can change to a pleasant doorbell like sound if you like. Remote is simple and everything can be accomplished with a click. Remote is handy for quick shut off after alarm triggered. The only issue thus far has been manipulating the device to get it placed just where I want, but that's not a big deal at all. It seems fairly well made, and I definitely am glad I purchased. I can see a lot of uses for this device, but for now, it is admirably serving the purpose for which I purchased it. One last caveat: do make your spouse or other family members are aware that it is on, armed, and how to turn it off. I am not sure my husband appreciated the surprise effect when he went to put away something in the closet and tripped the alarm. I will update if it doesn't last or continue to work well, but for now I could not be more pleased, although my dogs would not concur.

Only get reliable motion detection within 12 ft from cam and 16 ft when I try hard to set it off
It's pretty loud at its high volume setting. The softer alarm could be helpful when I'm at home. It often takes me multiple key presses on the remote to arm or disarm, though disarming seems to be easier. The remote may be a bit defective. The detector activates within a couple of seconds after arming, so I have to be out of detection range when arming or disarming. The arm/disarm seems to work pretty well from a distance, and through the metal door to my home, so that's no problem, apart from having to click the remote possibly multiple times. The detector beeps once to confirm it's armed and twice when disarmed. It works well enough for me to purchase another for another room in my house. That should offset the problem with the short 12 foot range that I'm getting. The batteries are holding up pretty well. I does give me some peace of mind.

A great value for peace of mind
I got this motion detector alarm as a deterrent against home burglars. For just under $30, it certainly delivers peace of mind. It's quite small, but puts out an ear-piercing siren which is just what I like for a burglar to hear as he's climbing in through my window. It can also be used as an electronic doorbell by simply pressing a button on the unit or remote. This gives it more utility and an even better value. One big thing about this alarm that I like is that it runs straight off electricity. This means I don't have to keep worrying about the battery level as to whether it will work or not, or if the batteries are a little low and wouldn't reliably sound the siren or be loud enough, or worse yet, start leaking. Yes, it does take 3AAA batteries (included), but they play more of a backup role in case of a power failure. Otherwise, it is powered by using a USB cord that can be plugged into a wall outlet or other USB slot. When I placed the sensor and then walked around to see where it would detect me, I noticed that there are a few small areas where it didn't see me, but that was remedied by simply turning the unit slightly to make sure it detected in a particular "zone". It also comes with a simple remote which includes a CR2032 battery. I tested it and was able to arm or disarm the unit from outside my house. I even went out to the curb in front of my house which is about 50 feet from my front door and was able to arm/disarm the unit which was in my living room. The remote feels a little flimsy in its construction, but hasn't stopped functioning. The good news is that if the remote became lost or nonfunctional, the unit can still be operated with the 3 buttons located on its top, although this would necessitate being able to press the on/off button from behind the unit and then exiting the area. The buttons on top of the unit seem solid and I don't anticipate them failing anytime soon.

Bought 2 for my garage - they work as indicated. I have one pointed at my side door and the other at the main bay door, both paired to one remote. Nice and small, easy to install wherever you need them. Alarms are loud and remotes work well (and at a distance). Best things about these: - Remotes are interchangeable with each alarm - You can program multiple alarms to one remote (and multiple remotes to alarm groups). So buying 2 alarms means you can have a spare remote - Alarms can be powered via micro USB (but you must buy your own USB cables to power them). Very handy to avoid battery replacement! If you can, get an "elbow-jointed" micro USB cable as the cord can get in the way of the mount. That said, I positioned mine as needed without issues.

Sometimes, the Motion Sensor Alarm would not arm itself. At other times, the Motion Sensor Alarm would go off even when it wasn't armed.
