My cats love it. They’re pretty finicky too. Quality seems fresh with lots of little chunks.

A friend and cat breeder has told me that an alarming number of cats and dogs are developing diabetes as they age. A likely cause is the wheat, corn, and rice used as fillers in commercial food. Grains are especially bad for cats because they are carnivore obligates. That means they can only digest meat. Grain just raises their blood sugar. I found out the hard way when Denny, my 18-year-old cat, lost his appetite and started losing his balance. He was walking on the flat part of his hind feet and sliding across my desk like it was a piece of ice. After a frantic trip to the vet and some expensive blood work, the vet told me Denny had diabetes. (His blood glucose was more than 500. Normal range for a cat is 80 to 120.) The vet told me where to buy a cat/dog blood glucose meter and supplies and some general instructions for testing Denny's blood sugar and giving him insulin. (There are some good YouTube videos.) The vet also recommended some different canned and dry foods that might lower his blood sugar. I felt so guilty because I'd been giving Denny lots of treats (cat junk food) and canned food with gravy, his favorite. After some experimentation, I settled on this Wellness canned food at the best food for Denny. It has some grain-free gravy and he likes the flavor. I also feed him a Wellness grain free dry food. Since I switched his diet, Denny's blood sugar has been *in the normal range all but a few days early on*. I still test and log his blood sugar every morning -- just to be sure. Also, Denny has come to expect our morning ritual. (If you ever have to test a cat's blood sugar, start by massaging the cat's ear with a warm, damp cloth for two to three minutes. The cat relaxes and the heat makes it easier to draw blood.) At his age, I don't know how much longer Denny has, but I'll try to make his life as happy and healthy as it can be. So I'll buy him this food until he stops liking it or he develops another health problem.

This is a healthy food or one of the healthiest at a mid price. My cat eats this turkey gravies flavor with no i issues BUT somehow he is not touching this batch. 1st can he did not eat 2nd can same thing . Very unusual. I am considering ditching the subscription. Supposedly the can cover gold means it is made in the USA versus the can cover silver which means made in Thailand. This one is gold and it does say made in USA . Perhaps my cat got the Thai one before and has decided to be an unpatriotic cat and dislike the one made here.

This is the best cat food I could find and believe it's worth the price even though u only get 12 of the 3oz cans for about $22. More expensive than say friskies, fancy feast and Sheba but still affordable and healthier since it's grain free. Cat loved it!

I marked the flavor 5 stars. I did not taste it myself, but I asked my cat and she gave it 2 thumbs up and said it was awesome. She's always harassing me for more and makes it a point to show me where the cans are. It is actually less expensive at the pet store, but my cat does not care as long as she gets it.
