Easy install for my truck's bed cap, one was able to hold up the door which made it even easier. It is easier with help. All you need is a flat head screwdriver for this type of use

I used these supports for the lid on top of our trash bin. They support the lid very well.

Installed Today. Old ones weren't holding up in windy conditions...dangerous. Measure while fully open...ball-joint to ball-joint. I screwed on the 4 endcaps hand-tight...one extra endcap was included. I kneeled on tailgate and supported window with my head. I pried off one old strut. I cleaned the 2 ball-joints with paint-thinner. I twisted the rod to line up the connections. They snapped on rather easily! Repeated on other side. Old struts were 35#. I went up to 40# on new struts. We have cold winters...thought a little extra would be good...but don't go crazy with it. They seem very firm. So Far, So Good!

Definitely have power to open and hold open what they are placed on. So far no issues.
