Wonderful coffee substitute, drink with creamer
By far the best coffee replacement I've found. Healthy, tasty, easy to make, cost efficient per cup. We make it in our french press and use less capomo than we would coffee. Also very nice mixed part coffee/part capomo, to round out the flavor and reduce the caffeine and acid from the coffee. Great with milk, I'm told the flavor is a little thin when drinking 100% capomo just black.

Good, but very bitter
First of all, you have to brew this right. I tried it in a Keurig and it just clogged. I've found 2 ways to do it. Either use a traditional coffee maker and set it to "strong" or simply mix it with water in a cup, microwave it to a boil, let it sit a minute or two, then filter pouring into a filter placed in a coffee maker. If you don't brew it hard, it just doesn't extract much. You'll immediately notice the smell which is wonderful and very coffee like. If you try to drink it straight, it will likely be too bitter. In fact, I think it tastes like cigarette smoke if you drink it this way (maybe ok if you are a smoker and like that). You need lots of cream and sugar to overcome this bitter taste, but once you do, it's quite good. Not quite like coffee, but good. If you want it to be more like the actual taste of coffee, get some Pero of Cafix coffee substitute and brew maybe 1 cup of Cafe Capomo and mix it with 2 cups of either of the other two. They taste much more like coffee, but lack the bitterness of coffee (they always taste like weak coffee) which is why I don't like them by themselves. The smaller amount of Cafe Capomo brings out just enough bitterness that you could literally fool people into thinking they were drinking coffee (even if it doesn't quite taste like the coffee they usually drink, it is quite a believable taste. Anyway, I hope this review is helpful. I'm always trying to find that perfect coffee substitute because I just love coffee so much. If only coffee didn't destroy my stomach...

Love the flavor
It has a delicious cafe mocha flavor. It It is soothing while at the same time mildly energizing. I feel more focused after a cup Cafe Capomo. I like adding a teaspoon of blue agave to give it a touch of natural sweetness.

Caution
I regret to have to write a negative review, and am only writing this because such a review would have been helpful for me before making this purchase. This was awful. The bitterness is a scary kind, not a normal kind. I even followed other reviewers’ advice of only putting half the recommended amount into the boiling water, plus I buried it in milk and sugar. But the bitterness cannot be hidden. It tastes like something that shouldn’t be ingested - like crushed pills mixed with cigarette ashes. The bitterness stays in the throat for hours, even extra brushing and gargling didn’t help. The smell from boiling this product was so bad that we had to open all our windows.

Caused Acid Reflux
I bought this as an alternative due to my bad acid reflux. Thought eliminating acid from the coffee would help. It has a nice robust flavor, and the taste is just as good as coffee in my opinion- although it’s definitely a different taste than coffee and may not be for some people. Upon first drinking it, I really liked it as it was delicious and gave me no stomach issues plus seemed to elevate my mood; however, the next day I had a lot of acid reflux. Not being sure it was the coffee, I continued to drink it. I continued to have issues, so I cut the amount in half. I eventually cut that in half also- mixing it in with my regular coffee, and my acid reflux was still really bad. I have a sensitive digestive system, so it may just be that introducing something new to quickly aggravated it, but at this time, this coffee does not work for me. Had to put it up in the cabinet to rest awhile until I feel confident enough to try again. Not happy about the fact that you can’t return it, as it’s expensive, but I understand why you can’t. I may update this review later if I go back to it at some point and have a better response.
