Tried at first to program the fob. It did program but I had to stand right by the door to get it to work. After a week, the programming failed. I was going to return the fob but decided to check the battery. Volt meter showed the installed battery at 1.5v. The 2032 is a 3v battery. I put in a new one - it programmed perfectly and has functioned without any problems for nearly a year now. Will save you a bunch over an OEM from the dealer.

I love this key! Buying it on Amazon saved me a lot of money compared to locksmiths and the dealer, but it's still great quality. The process was easy. I had the key part cut at the dealer, and then I followed the simple instructions to program the electronics myself. Now it works perfectly—locking, unlocking, opening the trunk, and starting the car just like the original. It saved me money and was much less trouble than I expected. GREAT DEAL! I just got my used 2012 Chevy Cruze recently but one of the two car keys was a little raggedy and beat up. I wanted a fresh back up but did not want to pay upwards of 200+ dollars from the local dealership so I ordered this instead. After doing some research online, I found out that the local A. Hardware had a key machine so all I had to do was bring in one of my original pre-cut car keys and then for $10 they cut the blade on this one I ordered here to match--super quick and easy. After that, I found out that it's INCREDIBLY easy to program--you DO NOT need to pay someone to do that--I literally just pulled up a video to verify, put in the original programmed key into the ignition (one turn to turn the car on, wait to hear the noise indicating that the car is on) then turned it back off, removed the original programmed key, and placed the new, UNprogrammed freshly cut pair (thanks to A. Hardware)--turned it on, waiting again to hear the noise indicating that the car is on, then turn it off and remove! Voila! It's programmed! No issues and has been working ever since. It locks and unlocks completely fine so I am VERY happy with this purchase--literally saving so much money and hassle.

My Equinox had a 4 button originally. No power lift gate. This 5 button seems to work just fine. Was like $40 to cut the key locally. Other locksmith in town wanted $75 to cut it. Not cheap to CNC cut the key, call before you buy. Would've been a few dollars more to just buy the whole fob from the locksmith with a warranty. This fob is better than others on here in that all the functions work.

The key stem breaks off from the main body. Had the key etched by locksmith. Key stem fell out of its socket, lucky it didn't happen while it was in the ignition receptacle.

Everything worked fine with the remote. Only took 10 seconds to program it to my Camaro.

Bought this when I got locked out of my car to save money on getting a key reprogrammed. I didn’t end up saving any money by providing my own key and the buttons do not always work. It takes several tries but when it does work, it works well. It may just need a new battery.

I was able to convert the old board and the carved key to the new fan easily.New fab was quality material.
