It works great!
I’m extremely happy with the HoneForest TDS Meter! I used it on my tap water (98), distilled water (0), and filtered water (88), and the readings came out pretty good! It was really interesting to see the clear difference between the three. The device is very easy to use right out of the box. Just turn it on, place it in the water, and within seconds you get a clear reading for TDS, EC, and temperature. It feels well-made for the price, compact, light weight, and reliable. If you want a simple and accurate way to test your water quality at home, this is definitely worth it. I highly recommend it!

Good product, but know this first...
As a first time hydroponics grower, I’m still learning a lot. Such as, I learned to use RO water instead of my well water because of the extreme concentrations of dissolved salt in mine. I lost my first batch of strawberries to it before I even knew what happened. EC reading is actually my main purpose for this meter, although the PPM and temperatures are also needed information. This product is easy to use (once you figure it out) and seems durable. The directions were non-existent, so remember to hit “clear” for accuracy between taking readings at separate reservoirs. The temperature and PPM are standard readings, however, I dropped a star based on the fact that EC on this unit is NOT measured in the standard Millisiemens/centimeter. It’s actually Microsiemens/centimeter (divide the number on this unit by 1000 to get mS/cm). As a new grower, it baffled me how I could be getting a reading of over 400 mS/cm after correctly adding my plant food and fertilizer while my plants require 1.8-2.2. It would have been nice for the instructions to explain this on the unit. Standard drinking water should have a value of under 0.3 mS/cm (Which on their meter will actually read 300 mS/cm). At least now, you can now use this example as a reference while checking the EC for your water. Other than that, this unit seems great. I’ve only had it a month, so I cannot comment on the longevity. For the price, I’m not expecting it to last forever.

Works well for TDS ppm
I tested my sink, waterdrop filter, and fridge. They were all about the same, which is to be expected. I tested my parents' house, which was fun. Now, a friend of mine who uses well water is going to test hers. The temperature feature is very slow and possibly not accurate. If you need TDS ppm, then it works great. For temperature, it does not work well.

Good buy
Good quality water tester. I use it to test top water and filtered water which is accurate.

Works pretty well for what it tests.
Tests μS/cm (A measurement of conductivity). An indirect measurement of total dissolved solids like metals, minerals and salts. And measures PPM (Parts per million of very dilute concentrations of substances in water. PPM substances depend on what type of water you are testing but in this case measures TDS (Total dissolved solids) in drinking water. I know that it works accurately because you can compare your readings to water quality reports for your local water through EPA or Utility District Water Reports online. Interestingly, the claims made by our City and County exactly matched the reading range on this device. We have the second cleaest drinking water in the U.S. according to the EPA. This verifies the readings as reported are accurate. You can ignore the color coded lights, red does not mean bad water. Compare that to the EPA and other reports. It will often show red even in perfectly clean water. The readings are good and well within the range to claim it is an accurate tool. Just ignore the red and green lights. On a side note we also use a Primo water dispenser. Tested that water and it comes in at 3 PPM. You cannot get cleaner water.
