The lids fits a bit loosely. If you are a commercial user you might expect this to retain liquids; it will not. If the container were filled with liquid, such as soup, this lid would pop off as you drive. I don't use the container for liquids thinner than a casserole so it is great for me.

It does cover for storage, but the cover is not seal tight. I returned the first set of lids and received a second set of lids, which manufacturer happily replaced and resent, fit slightly better, but lids appear to warp and not fit tightly.
