These are made of steel. Real steel, and you can smell a bit of oil on them when new...like the smell of heavy machinery. Pure quality, very strong. I got these because I had a set of "Impact Ready" bits from another brand...and they kept snapping off in the screws, three of them in a row. Very frustrating when you have to pull the tip of a bit back out of a screw. When these arrived I chucked one up and finished the job without any trouble at all. In this case, you really do get what you pay for.
