Really fun couple activity surprisingly hard to make so take your time

Good product, easy to understand great gift for Mother’s Day

We've recently only just discovered Sculpd as both a brand and company, we were extremely impressed with their air dry clay starter kit in both quality and value for money. Unfortunately we did not feel that the value for money with this kit was there, don't get me wrong its a lovely idea its very well packaged and presented but at the end of the day its designed to only build one candle holder and one candle. For £39.99 it's simply too much especially when you can purchase a great quality air dry clay and a large premium scented candle for half the price. Sure it may not be as fun or as engaging but would offer more value for money that way. Warning ... Matches are also included in the box set. The instructions are very informative and takes you through each step to make a thumb pot, the clay is a little dry and needed working with damp hands not wet but just enough to add minimal water to the clay, which also softened the the clay perfectly so we wouldn't damage our thumbs. What ever you design your candle holder to be is up to you the only that that matters is the vessel that contains the wax, also that you do not make it too deep so the wick wont reach - although that is very unlikely as you do get a healthy size wick, but ultimately end of the day its just the one wick to make the one candle. Quality is fantastic but what you get for the price it's not really worth it in our opinion.

Nice..ish set however the clay is solid and really difficult to mould. A little bit on the expensive side for what it is.

Excellent candle making kit is really impressive how full this is For the price of only £39.99 this really will keep yourself or all the children entertained and also have something to show for it at the end this is fully complete not only for the candle side of it but for the actual pottery side as well all the tools you could need all the way down to the wax clay and scented oils I really couldn’t recommend this highly enough. This would make a great gift idea or something to keep for yourself at home. Very very easy to use. I’ve had no issues whatsoever and explains everything from start to finish.

This is a good project to share with a child, or with a friend. First you use the air drying clay to make a pot, and then you fill it with scented wax to make your own personal candle. Making the pot is a fairly messy enterprise. You need wet hands to get a good finish, and you end up with clay everywhere. I did this in the shed, to avoid mess in the house. Of course we are now in a damp cool October, and the pot is taking days to dry. If you are in a hurry, keep your pot indoors, or do this as a summer project. I was a bit worried that the heat from the central heating might cause the pot to crack, so I'm just waiting patiently. Once the clay has dried you can paint it. You have to supply your own paints for this. Then you varnish it (varnish is supplied). Wax is melted in your microwave, and you can add the perfume oil to it before pouring into your pot & adding the wick. It's worth mentioning that, although the kit is for two, the instructions are written for a single user. For example, it says to pour all the fragrance oil into the wax. If you are using just one of the two bags of wax, then obviously you should only use half the oil. You also have to divide the clay into two portions. You could probably purchase all the individual components more cheaply, but it is nice to have everything together in a well presented set. This would make a thoughtful gift for Christmas, or a birthday.

Ik heb dit pakket besteld op 17/12 om als kerstcadeau te geven. Nu 29/12 is het nog steeds niet toegekomen omdat het vast zit bij de douane. Er staat nergens aangegeven op Amazon dat dit pakket van buiten de EU moet komen en werd ook niet vermeld op de bevestigingsmail - waar vermeld stond dat het pakket tussen 23 en 28/12 geleverd zou worden. Ik heb nog 30 euro extra douanekosten moeten bijbetalen. Let dus zeker op als je vanuit België bestelt!

This kit was a hit!

Although this was expensive, it was fun and enjoyable. My boyfriend and I did this as a date night with some dinner ordered it and it made a very romantic date night. I would recommend looking into the difference between the different boxes they have to offer before purchasing so you can ensure you're getting exactly what you're expecting. Would maybe get again.
