Great for detangling several mats in cat's fur
This is a great detangler spray to use on a cat with matted fur. I used this yesterday on a relative's cat that had *several* medium-sized mats on its back. It really helped the fur to be more brushable, I think. It was smooth and damp without being oily or slick. After all of the mats were removed, the cat's fur felt soft and fresh again, it was exactly the product that I needed, in combination with a good grooming brush/comb, for removing a lot of troublesome mats that had been popping up over the past month or two. Used more regularly, it would help prevent such a problem from recurring, I believe.

works very well; cat purrs when I apply; spray pump a little awkward, but still
This works beautifully on tangles; even very bad matting. Angora purrs when I apply it. The scent is one that both Angora and I like. Know that on bad mattings, though, this is not a miracle-worker, so that you still have to very carefully work the tangle out with your fingers, and may have to reapply this several times. Nonetheless, I give it five stars because with patience, and willingness to gradually work out badly matted fur with your fingers, this works wonders. Even before I start to untangle, I think it provides relief to Angora's skin where the matt is. I spray it onto my hands and then apply: Spraying it on directly is problematic, because if Angora moves I'm worried about spraying it too close to her head. Also, the pump is a little unwieldy in that it's hard to hold with one hand and pump at the same time. But despite that, I will be purchasing this again.

The spray doesn’t work, the product does
The spray bottle doesn’t work. I have to unscrew the bottle and pour the product on the brush. Then it makes it easier to take out my Maine Coon’s mats

this stuff works!
This stuff really works!!! My cat gets matted every year and every year she has to go to the vet to be shaved. Yes, the vet. Not the groomer, because she is so scared that she has to be sedated to be shaved. So she goes to the vet! So this year I decided to try this. I was desperate but had very low expectations. My cat wouldnt even allow me to spray this stuff on her. So I sprayed it into my hands and would just kid of glob it onto the mats on her back and let it sit there. And sure enough, the mats loosened! Enough for her to get them out herself. I did this several times. A little bit each day. But the mats loosen and they would kind of fall out when she groomed herself. A few times she let me sneak in with scissors. And sometimes I found matted hair clumps on the floor that she got out herself. But I am happy to say ALL of the mats are gone. I am seriously so relieved and such a believer. Just let this stuff sit on the mats and do its thing!

Helped with the mats, but poisoned my cat.
My geriatric long hair cat got some pretty bad mats this summer that brushing alone just couldn't handle. And no amount of treats would keep him occupied enough to shave them out. I was made aware of this product when someone recommended I use it to help get the mats out with the detangling brush and the furminator. Just like using detangling spray for a kid, right? Wrong. Toddlers don't go behind you and groom themselves with their tongue. Well... if they do their products are nontoxic. This could be a good product IF it didn't contain salicylic acid, also found in aspirin. Which is toxic to cats. They lack a liver enzyme to metabolize salicylates, which causes gastrointestinal upset. Including but not limited to vomiting, diarrhea, and abdominal pain. My poor old boy was up all night vomiting. At one point he started vomiting blood. PLEASE do not use this on your cats. Or dogs. Or toddlers for that matter, you never know if they will groom themself like a cat :D Additional note: I did find an alternative recommended by a cat groomer online. You can use coconut oil to help alleviate discomfort while dematting. My cat still gets runny poops with too much coconut oil, but at least he won't be puking blood again.

It sprays just fine and detangles perfectly
Maybe those people had a faulty bottle which happens all the time in manufacturing but that doesn’t mean the product itself is bad. Nothing more ridiculous than a bad review of a product because packaging is malfunctioning. This detangling spray is great. Smells like straight up chemical but it dissipates almost immediately. Took out the nastiest most stubborn Matts on my cat and that’s literally all that matters, right. If the nozzle doesn’t spray just dab the product on a cloth or paper towel and rub it into the Matt gently….works like a charm.

Spray does not work!
The sprayer does not work so now I have to open the lid and get some out and rub it on with a towel and I know this does not sound too bad but it really is because the spray would help to get to the actual spot like on the butt! It really sucks because now I’m using more also! I would like a refund or a bottle that sprays would be amazing!

This stuff is amazing! After a few days of spraying the knots and rubbing it in, the knots are working their way out without the use of combs or shaving devices!

Cats don't like it also unable to spray due to damaged spraying knob

I am absolutely amazed at how well this product works and if I could have given it 10 stars I would have!!! I have a Norwegian Forest Cat, Winnie, who has a very thick undercoat and usually we need to get her shaved every spring, which absolutely terrifies her. This year I had hoped that with lots of brushing we could avoid having to take her to the groomer, which unfortunately did not work. Very quickly she had several nasty mats so I made the appointment. We had to wait 2 weeks to get in to the appointment and during this time I came across this spray. LIFE CHANGING!! I sprayed Winnie once over and within just a couple of hours 2 mats began to fall out, without even cutting or brushing. The next day I treated her again with the spray and to my absolute astonishment by the end of the day all the mats were gone, the undercoat had shedded as it should, and our little Winnie was as happy as could be and ready for summer🥰

Can’t get the spray out. Had to pour into my hand because the solution was too thick to go through the sprayer.
