Excellent for kids who enjoy basketball
I'm not much into basketball but it seems to be excellent for a kid who is. Covers fifty-plus years of great players from the NBA and WNBA. The prose may be a challenge for the youngest of the target audience, but no problem for the oldest.

Interesting read for basketball fans
My son loves basketball so he was really excited to read this book and learn more about his favorite players. This book includes both NBA and WNBA players which I thought was great! Each player has a picture and a short biography about them. The book is organized by position and each position features a current player, honorable mentions and a legendary player, which has a bit longer of a biography. My son is a bit too young to read this on his own so we have been reading it together and I am learning just as much as he is. Definitely a great and interesting read for any young basketball fans.

Neat Art and Info but Mostly about Recent Players
This is a really cool book. The format of the book was a bit odd so that the main biographies were about current players and even the honorable mentions skew to more recent players but it is very well written and at a good reading level for kids. The book goes by position. There are a few pages dedicated to a current player at each position for the NBA/WNBA. Then there is a list of honorable mentions that each get a page of biography. Finally, there is a legendary player at that position that gets about a three page biography.I personally would have wanted longer biographies about more great players of history but that's purely a personal preference. The long biographies have life journeys as well as basketball journeys for the players. Some choices for the biographies will likely age better than others (Embiid, Leonard, Lebron, Curry, Harden | Griner, Elena Delle Donne, Candace, Bird, Taurasi).I did enjoy the book. Also, the artwork looks really good and you get nice statistical overviews for the main biographies.

Nine-year old sports buff loved it
My nine-year old son is obsessed with sports and sports history. He loves baseball, football, and basketball so I thought this would be a great book for him and it was! He really enjoyed reading about the players (and subsequently repeating everything he learned to us) and learning.I love that they included WNBA players in here. Lots of books are focused only on men's sports but having some spotlight on women's sports is important. He enjoyed reading about them as well.Overall, the book is well written and the reading level is very appropriate for a third grader. Great book!

Nice informative book on basketball players
I got this for my 9 year old son who's interested in basketball. We use it as a tool to have him read more often since it's a subject that intrigues him. Well written, with a little bit more of a challenge for my 9 year old, which is good, and my son seems to enjoy it.

Ok... But Not Fantastic.
This book was ok, but I guess it just didn't really grab my attention. I wish it contained more illustrations or something to make it a little more interesting. The book feels rather cheaply made. It's ok, I guess I just wasn't super impressed.
