Solid, Versatile, and Incredibly Useful — A Perfect 2-in-1 Stand for Any Studio
This Neewer 2-in-1 stand might be one of the smartest and most practical pieces of gear I’ve added to my studio. The build quality is excellent for the price: lightweight aluminum alloy, yet strong enough to hold lights, softboxes, reflectors, and even heavier modifiers without wobbling. The ability to switch between a standard light stand and a boom arm is a true advantage. Instead of buying two separate pieces of equipment, this stand easily transforms based on what I need — overhead hair light, fill, rim light, or a simple key. The boom arm extension is smooth, stable, and locks firmly in place, and the counterweight bag gives perfect balance once filled. I also appreciate how high it extends. At nearly 10 ft, it has the range needed for professional setups, whether I’m shooting product, portraits, or video. Despite the height, it stays surprisingly steady, which isn’t always the case with stands in this price range. Setup and adjustments are fast. The hinges, knobs, and clamps feel solid and secure, not flimsy. Everything operates the way good studio equipment should: predictable, smooth, and dependable. And the value is outstanding. For a stand that works both as a traditional tripod stand and a boom arm, with this level of stability and flexibility, the price is honestly impressive. Bottom line: A reliable, versatile, well-built stand that punches far above its price. Whether you’re upgrading your studio or starting fresh, this Neewer 2-in-1 light stand is a must-have.

Sturdy and very well made
I've purchased a few Neewer products in the last few years and so far I haven't been disappointed. These light stands are nice and sturdy and fold up nice and small for transport. Everything feels solid and well made. Very happy with the purchase. As a photography studio owner, I own a lot of light stands. These stands are fantastic and I'm considering replacing many of my older stands with these.

Great for Studio Lighting
Perfect for a small video studio. Easy to set up and use. Doesn't take up much space. Solid construction. I use it as a diffuser for LED lights

Wow! Surprised and highly recommend!
In a sea of C stands etc. and battling name brands, this company has never disappointed and this stand is top notch - spring loaded safety drops surprised me! All fittings and tensions and thinking of the straight and boom configuration has leveraged other industries innovations, notably the drum equipment stand world etc. The quick adjust main angle handle is a pro touch. I never rate or review ever, this stuff changes the game at this price point, it's not cheap cheap but it's a thing you get more value for the price. And you will want 3-4 of these hanging around for weird needs and uses. Thanks Newer and seller!

Surprising GOOD
I already own several of Neewer's C-Stands and also some lightweight Cowboy Light Stands. I LOVE the versatility and sturdiness of the C-Stands but I had a specific lighting need to supplement my studio, and the Cowboy stands were not cutting it. However, I did not want to spend the same dollar amount as the C-Stands. So I took a chance on this half-as-expensive Light Stand. I needed both height and a boom arm. So, for the most part, I was pleased with what I got. The actual boom and stand is very heavy duty but the legs are not as great as a C-Stand. HOWEVER, I could compensate for the stability with two sandbags (the unit comes with only one and no sands or rocks). One sandbag on the end of the boom and then another weighing down the base. Problem solved. The other "issue" is that this 2-in-1 is more like one or the other . . .not both. Yes, if you combine both poles, this thing is TALL . . .9 feet is higher than my ceiling. But if you want to use the boom, the main support is only about 4 feet (which is stated) and then the boom extends out. This was the config I needed to get my light 7.5 feet off the ground and "leaning" into the scene. For me PERFECT but your needs may vary. Still for the price, it is flexible in the config and with the sandbag placement, perfect for many scenarios. (However, if you can afford twice the price, look at the C-Stands)

Very strong and stable
The other five-star reviews are on point. This boom arm is strong and stable, and is a great price compared to the cost of full C stands if you already have high-quality light stands or even an extra tripod and an adapter. The double zipper on the sandbags is clever, but as another reviewer recommended, the best precaution is to fill ziplock bags with sand and then place those bags in the pockets.

Nice stand for the price!
I second guess this stand until it arrived. Extremely sturdy and very well built. I thought it was gonna be a thin and chinsy stand, it’s not. It’s solid!

After searching for a while for a decent drum overhead microphone stand for home recording and not finding anything reliable under the 200$ price point I decided to look for another solution. Ended up light stand 3/8" thread are the same as those on microphone stands. This Neewer Light stand easily holds in place my two AT2020 on a stereo bar above the kit without any chance of sagging since the angle lock has teeth. I can't tell about stability if used for its real purpose but it's rock solid as a mic stand!
