Sturdier than expected and with the provided fasteners, stays in place really well
I was actually pleasantly surprised with how sturdy this is is. Yes, there are velcro strips on parts of it, yes the velcro is fairly useless and can't be used to keep it in place, but it also comes with these "screw pins" that you twist through the fabric into the couch, and those have held for 2 months now, and gets a significantly amount of use from our cats, especially our large boy who doesn't know his own strength, and really pulls at it. We used it to cover a hole the cats had started digging into the side of the couch, and no, this doesn't look very fancy, but it looks better than having a giant tear/hole, and the cats have continued to just scratch on that spot, leaving the rest of the couch alone, so mission accomplished.

Great Protection, But Installation Could Be Better
If you have cats that love scratching furniture, this is a great way to protect your couch while still letting them enjoy scratching. We placed it on the corner of our couch, and our cats immediately took to it. The only downside is the installation—while the tacks provided work, they don’t always stay in place, especially if your cats get a little zoomies action going! Would love to see a more secure attachment method.

Exactly as pictured and cat approved!
My kittens loved this! It was easy to install and has last 9 months with 3 cats! It fit the side of my loveseat exactly as pictured. The puff ball provided a good amount of play before it got chewed off. Cats will cat! It has a slim profile and is gives their claws a work out. The uplostery screws are a bit finicky to get in place, but once they are in they hold forever. There's also Velcro so you can wrap it around something. Overall a very effective product the for the cost.

hard to install and thin
This will not last very long and the screws are hard to install. The velcro as well as the "toy" in on the wrong side. Not stable. Poor quality and value for the money.

How do I connect it to the couch?
I love the idea of this item. However, I just can't figure out a way to make it stick to the couch. I've tried push pins, staples, and velcro strips. This is only good for certain types of fabric. My couch is more of like a canvas/burlap type surface and it just will not stay on there. The velcro strips have been the closest to keep it up, but only for about a day. Then it's in the floor when I get home from work. It's hard to train a cat to use it when it won't stay in place. Again, I think the product itself is great; it just only works with certain types of fabric. That should be disclosed or they should figure out a way to install it on any surface.

Works great cat loves it
This worked great, cat loves it, he was tearing up that spot on the couch before I bought this. I did use bigger screws to screw into the couch wood and now he shreds up a storm with no harm to the couch

saved several pieces of my furniture
i knew cats would scratch my furniture no matter what I did, but they completely demolished 2 cloth storage benches and had started their work on my $2500 couch (despite being provided ample alternatives). These are a great solution as not only does it protect the furniture, but my cats also prefer to scratch these over anything else (including catnip-infused corrugated cardboard). I bought 3 sets of these and pinned them in the problem areas and have no long had scratching issues, and the cats are extremely happy and go out of their way to scratch these instead of anything else. These secure into the furniture with corkscrew pins, so they only work on cloth/upholstered furniture. I have noticed that they do occasionally pop out, but it's extremely easy to take 2 seconds to pop the loose one back in and the pack comes with way more of the corkscrew pins than you probably need.

Good idea, poor execution, dangerous
My cats love scratching on this, the problem is those damn pegs. They are a nightmare to put in, especially if you're disabled, my fingers couldn't do it and I had to have an able-bodied relative put them in. They also don't work, within the first scratch my cat pulled some right out. What she didn't get, my other cat did. I didn't realize it wasn't attached completely and my disabled child cut their leg walking past, it was a deep and painful cut. I'm quite angry that my child got hurt and I'm disappointed and irritated that I spent money on unusable garbage.
