DK Readers L2: LEGO Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (DK Readers Level 2)

My 2 y.o. son loves playing with my actual Lego Star Wars toys so this was a perfect addition. Now he asks me to read these books to him. I shed a tear as the proud dad of a future Star Wars nerd. Interestingly, Episodes IV, V, and VI are in different difficulty levels of reading ranging from learning to read to reading alone. This makes it hard to read through the whole original trilogy since they don't contain the same level of text/picture ratio. I would have preferred to have them all the same level but that's just my personal preference.

Another DK Star Wars reader and another 5 star review. These books are great and my 6 year old loves them. He is in first grade and can read them by himself. He loves all the pictures and lego scenessssssss. They are a favorite he reads over and over again.

My grandson really enjoys reading this small book. That makes me satisfied.

Great prelude to watching the film as it helps your child know the characters, events and locations beforehand so they don't keep asking questions during the movie itself: no need to pause the film every time they get confused. The book goes into brief detail of characters/group of characters, major plot points and locales in the movie: The Evil Empire The Rebels Rebel Base Wampa Attack The Battle of Hoth Brave Rebels Jedi Training Bounty Hunters Boba Fett Cloud City Shocking Truth Friends To The Rescue Dark Times Each subject is within the span of 2 pages with easy to read jumbo text with related Lego characters, ships, buildings, etc displayed. There's a quiz at the end of the book is a nice addition to test if you're playing attention and retaining what has been read. The book, although very short, has good photographic shots of legos on each page. The MSRP of $4 is pretty steep though unless you want your kids to be invested in the Star Wars universe, since the construction feels more like pamphlet or mini comic in design. So unless you want your kid to become fan, I'd pick it up at half the price when it goes on sale (which I did)

My son just loves these Lego star wars books. They are pretty inexpensive and it seems that this book will make him read!

My grandson (7) loves Star Wars. He enjoys reading this book. It's always great to have a 7 year old boy reading.
