This is a super durable magnet. It sticks to our dish washer really easy, easy to read, easy to use. This is stainless steel so color wise, it blends in with all of our appliances. Letter size is fine based on the appliance it's put on. It's pretty out of the way so it does stay clean. But this is super helpful when doing dishes so my husband and I can determine if the dishes in the washer are clean or not.

For more than 30 years, a family member walks into the kitchen and tries to guess if the dishes are clean or dirty. Maybe Mom is not around to answer the question. How many hundreds of times has this happened over the decades?!! No more! This magnet has eradicated THAT problem. The front of my high end dishwasher door is stainless steel, but will not attract a magnet. No problem! There is enough clearance between the TOP front edge of the dishwasher door and the bottom of the counter top to place this high quality magnet. The magnet is thin, but quite strong and will not budge unless you want it to. It has not scratched anything, which was a concern I had before my purchase. Dishwasher manufacturers should have this item as factory installed part of each dishwasher. What a super idea. No one will EVER have to wonder what the status of the dishes are again in my kitchen. I have been using this product for probably close to a year, and I continue to be very pleased. The magnet is heavy duty and very attractive in person. It looks to me like an expensive, high quality stainless steel. The little mechanism that slides from left to right to indicate whether the dishes are clean or dirty slides quite easily each time, without causing the entire magnet to move. I do highly recommend this product.

That is a super strong magnet on this sign. It is of much higher quality than I expected, it is not flimsy, and actually has a good weight to it. No need for adhesive alternate attachment method.

We had the previous version of this useful item, which was larger, more colorful, and easier to read from a distance, but unfortunately had a too-easy-to-move shutter that would often shift accidentally when we walked by or worked near the dishwasher. This updated/slightly smaller version also has a super-powerful magnet (along with sticky pads if your dishwasher front isn't magnetic) and a more classier/subtle look that actually looks like it's part of ouur dishwasher design, and a shutter (to change from clean to dirty) that is just as convenient to move, but will never move accidentally. They even put soft pads on the back so that it won't scratch the dishwasher front when/if you slide it. Plus the customer service folks actually responded to my original review (where I said that the shutter ledge could move accidentally) and improved the design!

Slides very easily between Clean and Dirty. Strong magnet. Stays in it's place. Sturdy.

Update: The piece kept sliding down off the piece and after about the third time of resetting the adhesive, I decided to use some super duty 3M tape I had on hand and it's not been a problem, since. The actual magnet is substantial and looks great - clean lines and the black and silver look, matches my dishwasher and other appliances. However, the slide is very loose so when the dishwasher door is opened and closed - it slides. The other thing I'm noticing after about a week on my dishwasher, is that the adhesive padding isn't strong enough to hold the weight of the piece itself, so the piece is sliding down off the adhesive cushion. The back of the piece itself is not a full magnet - there are small round magnets (penny-sized) that sit in holes on the back of the piece and the adhesive padding is what holds them in.

I've had this dishwasher indicator for five years, and it still looks great! It blends perfectly with my stainless steel dishwasher and makes it easy to tell whether the dishes are clean or dirty at a glance. It's held up well over time and remains a functional and stylish addition to my kitchen. Highly recommend!

I was impressed with the sturdy design. Strong magnets, solid design. Not cheap flimsy plastic like so many others. Sharp looking. Perfect for my brand-new dishwasher!
