Q: How long is the cord itself between the iron and the station (excluding the iron)?

The cord is about three feet long, so you will need a place to set the controller.

Dear Gabe, The YIHUA 939D+-III supports a Sleep Mode function that can be configured for 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 minutes. This is how it works: 1. Put the iron into the holder 2. A countdown timer will begin counting down once no further movements are detected 3. Once the timer reaches your set duration (can be configured to 5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes), the iron will enter sleep mode 4. The temperature will cool to a lower idling temperature to reduce wear and prevent oxidation. 5. You can wake the iron by three methods as mentioned in the operating instruction. Q: Does anyone know how to calibrate temperature on the 939d+ iii soldering station? the instruction about calibration on the manual is really not clear.

Dear customer, Thank you for your question here. In fact, the station has gone through 4 controlled-tests and temperature calibrations in the factory before entering the market. If the temperature differential between the displayed and the displayed temperature (measured by a thermometer) is within 10°C/18°F, we do not recommend users to perform the temperature calibration. Once misused, the temperature calibration function, there then would be high risks of potential fire hazards due to human error. But if there is indeed a differential (exceeds 10°C/18°F) between the displayed and actual measured temperature, you can strictly follow the calibration procedures in the supplied manual to calibrate.
