Q: Does this product contain an ionizer

Hi there! Yes, all Blueair units use small Ionizers. At Blueair we know ozone is a serious topic for our customers, that’s why our units have been engineered to produce no measurable amounts of ozone. Blueair units have been thoroughly tested and certified to comply with the California Air Resource Board criteria to emit less than 0.050 ppm. Additionally, tests conducted by 3rd party research firms, such as SP Technical Research Institute of Sweden, have shown that Blueair units may even reduce levels of ozone within a room.

Q: Does the purifer push air out or in? Can someone explain how it works?

Hi there! This unit pulls air from 360 degrees into the bottom (black) portion of the unit where the filter is. Cleaned air is blown out the top of the unit.

Q: How often do you need to change the filters?

In my home there is a lot of pollen and We have a room-mate who smokes outside yet smoke still gets in the house. So the filter in my bedroom runs on medium 12/16 hours a day. It is just now showing signs of use on the media. I expect to change its filter every 3 months. When it runs on low I can't hear it run, on medium it's a very low hum. Only high can you distinctly run from more than a couple feet away.

Q: Why does the twin pack cost more than buying two single units?

I’ve been watching it for a week now and it was briefly the full $100 price. Dropped back down after a couple days. It goes on and off sale I guess.
