Get them
We have used this brand of knives for over two decades (we have our original set still) and they are hands down our favorite. The quality is fantastic, especially since these aren’t super expensive knives. I love the weight as they aren’t heavy, the black handles are comfortable, and the blades are nice and sharp. Get the sharpener too, for when you end up needing it. I’ve given these as gifts to family members because once they use them at our house they too love them. I do NOT recommend the all silver knives, stick with the black handles. They’re easier to maintain, making them more functional in my opinion.

RADA knife.
Great knife. Holds an edge very well for a long time. Handle does not fade if you put it in the dishwasher.

If You Have Never Used One of These Knife brand, You Are Missing Out!!
I have had this brand of knives for 24+ years. My first one I bought was from a Fund Raiser. Then I found them in an Amish Bulk Food Store a few years later. Every knife I have purchased from RADA has been quality. It is easy to sharpen. My husband has a tendency to grab my kitchen knives to cut miscellaneous items outside. I am able to sharpen them with the RADA Sharpner and after a scolding to my hubby, I can sterilize it , sharpen it and return it to the Knife Drawer. I have many sizes of these knives.

Handle is a bit small
Handle is a bit short and narrow for the adult hands. Would be fine for a "Steak Knife", but for a "Stubby Butcher", I would prefer a bigger longer handle. Specs Current: blade L 5-3/8'', handle is about L 4-1/4". Suggested: blade L 5-3/8'', handle at least L 4-3/4", if not 5". Handle needs to be wider too; current: W 4/8" x H 7/8", suggested: something like W 6/8'' x H 1''. Overall I am giving it 5 stars because it is a good knife. Nice thin blade, with a good balance of firmness and a slight flex. Dishwasher safe handle(black one only). Good Price.

Not what I was expecting . . .
I purchased this knife for a "potato knife" to beat up in the kitchen, but I was surprised to find the Stubby Butcher knife has a thin, flexible blade that's best suited as . . . a butcher knife! I didn't want to like it at first, having had bad experiences with those rubbery stainless steel knives from the '70s and '80s. My concerns were misplaced, since this utensil took an extremely sharp edge that fairly zips through raw chicken, fish, pork and beef like nobody's business. Plus, the edge holds up quite nicely under moderate use, and touches up quickly on a ceramic rod. My darling wife loves the handle (aluminum) as she razors through meats and vegetables. I bought another one to give to one of my sons, and he's impressed with it, as well. Best of all, this is a reasonably priced, American-made product (from Iowa, I think), and I'm tempted to check out their other products. I recommend it.

I Got This—Here's How It Worked for Me
These RADA butcher knives are awesome! Super sharp, easy to handle, and perfect for cutting meat or veggies. The black handle feels great in my hand, and they clean up easy too. I love that they’re made in the USA. Definitely a solid buy!

Forget those $200+ knives and just get yourself of few of these. I'm not a professional chef, just the average joe cooking daily for family. I've had a few different expensive brands and this Rada blows them all out of the water. Its light weight and so easy to use. Glides through anything effortlessly! Washes off easy and have survived may washed in the dishwasher without any issues. Would highly recommend any Rada stainless steel knife!!

I don't see why this knife is rated so highly . Its sharp on first use, but after cutting 3 onions and a tomato , its already not very sharp at all. Way overrated
