Meister SpeedKills M2 Speed Bag Platform w/ Swivel - Stout

I did quite a bit of research and looking at reviews before purchasing the Meister speed bag platform. Like everyone probably reading this review, I wanted something stable that didn't vibrate. And I wanted a good quality bag with a decent swivel. This was the only 2" drum I could find on Amazon, and it truly measures 2 inches, as shown in a picture. I'm very happy with this setup so far. Note, it does NOT include a bag, I purchased the Meister Speedkills medium size bag and it works great for me. On a a skill level from 1-10, I'm probably a 5. With that said, I like the response and speed that it rebounds. I added a sample video so you can hear the sound and see that it's sturdy, I'm just starting, don't judge me. :) I will first comment on the packaging, it was packed very well, especially the hardwood drum. The box was very damaged when it arrived and two sides were opened. It looked like they kicked it off the truck while driving down the highway. But even though the box was a mess, everything inside was undamaged due to the good packing. They really took a lot of care in wrapping the drum, which was nice to see because that's the most fragile and noticeable part. So I purchased this platform for my home, and I'm the only one that uses it. Since the initial height adjustment, I haven't changed it. So I don't have any comment on the ease of quickly adjusting. I will say that when I first installed I made it a little too high, I loosened the 4 allen head bolts and adjusted the height by myself. Held the platform with one hand and tightened with the other, I had no problem doing this in just a few minutes. The mounting hardware appears to be pretty solid angle iron and the welds look decent. Some parts aren't one continuous bead, but it looks neat and there's a decent amount of weld, but I'm not a welder by trade so take that feedback with a grain of salt. The painted coating is just ok, mine was chipped in one corner that I show in one of the pictures. But it's solid and functional, so a little chip didn't bother me, it's not a beauty contest. The installation instructions are very clear and all the mounting hardware is included. My ceiling in the basement was too low, and I didn't want to start finding studs and drilling into plaster to mount to a painted wall. So I fabricated a wood frame you can see in the pictures. It's in my spare room closet doorway. It worked great and is solid as a rock while I'm hitting the bag. Marking the holes to mount and attaching the hardwood drum will take two people. I was able to get everything mounted by myself except the hardwood drum. I held it up overhead, while my wife stood on a stepstool and got the bolts started from the top, and then I finished tightening them. All the holes lined up perfect for the drum and also for the swivel. I tightened the drum like you would with the lugnuts on a car tire....in a crisscross type pattern, gradually snugging each one down. My drum didn't seat completely flat against the rounded top metal support, but it's pretty close as I show in the picture. It doesn't seem to be causing any issue or vibration. So far, I am extremely happy with my purchase. I will update my review if anything changes in the next few months. I truly believe you will be very happy with the Meister platform. Best of luck.

Solidly constructed and uses quality materials (eg. heavy weight/duty) -- requires 2 reasonably strong people to install. Pairs nicely with Meister Speed Bag (not included with platform purchase). I have not attempted to use height adjustment yet but assume that 2 people will be required. Don't expect to become an expert overnight -- practice, practice, practice. YouTube has many good example videos providing Beginner through Intermediate users with information about 'proper' use of a Speed Bag.. I enjoyed viewing videos named Best Fighters on Speed Bag. It's good exercise that can be had in short interval spurts (ie. a short program of continuous punching for 15-20 minutes -- with brief rest between sets of left hand only, right hand only, alternating hands, 2 punches per hand alternating hands, or add your own favorite combination -- with or without foot movement) -- mix it up to keep it fresh and still interesting. Speed up punches as you become stronger and better able to control speed Bag bounce back. I'm still a beginner and still having fun with this 'serious' equipment. Enjoy --

Great quality product. I wanted to get a speed bag platform with a 2inch solid hardware drum. I was fortunate to have my neighbor and one of my sons help me put it up. We attached it directly to the studs. It’s very sturdy. The video on how to install it was very helpful however the speed bag swivel was a little complicated because two of the screws have to line up with the white posts and you have to use the nuts to tighten them down and they don’t show that in the video. Their customer service is excellent though. The speed bad swivel pin is very tiny and hard to take off and on. So if you are someone who likes to change speed bags a lot you may want to consider a different swivel, the swivel itself is still good though. Also some of the lettering on the wood just fell off so I ended up taking the rest of the letters off. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

Very sturdy platform. Came well packaged. No damage to product. All items included. Directions are clear - easy assembly. 2 inch thick board with very little if any vibration. Mounted to concrete wall in basement. If mounting to wood studs may want to spread load over several studs with horizontal 2x4. This is a great speed bag platform.

Metal plate came bent like a potato chip but most of the bend went away when fastening to the wood. More wobbly than I expected. Screw hole locations did not match instruction manual. Overall good quality though.

Happy with the purchase. Will be adding sand bags of something to the top to help wigh the vibrations. Happy with the wood, all the hardware, and mounting bracket. Would buy again!

Unable to mount do to the mounting holes being drilled on the wrong side of the mount. Rented a hammer drill for $80- and can’t even mount the bag!!

I just received mine a week ago and love it. It is very solid when mounted to the wall also no movement at all when using.i also bought the meister bag medium and together they are perfect. Only thing bad was the packaging was not a full box of packaging so the parte were loosly bouncing around in the box. Just glad nithing was damaged. Just a few scratches to the top of platform.

The side of the drum had a nick out of it maybe from shipping, I sent a picture and description of the issue and was contacted quickly and was offered a replacement right away. No arguing or fuss. The product itself is of high quality and much better than your standard Everlast speed bag that most of us start out with. I anchored it into concrete and there is very little vibration and the thick drum makes a big difference coming from a thinner one. The swivel is pretty good and you probably wouldn't need to upgrade like most other platforms.

Ordered the Speedkills speedbag platform, very solid and well made. Platform is 2 inches thick and very nice, we chose the stout color and are very pleased. Had one small issue and customer service followed up right away and went above and beyond to ensure we are happy..thank you, already ordered an extra Meister speedbag to go with it. 5 stars.
