I took bottles of this item in the past.... It always made my blood sugar drop, but then I started having a reaction. Yes, this item would be good to take on a trip along with insulin for an emergency, in my unscientific opinion. I read that it coats the intestine so that you do not absorb as many carbs... Could stop abosoption of other nutrients?? I do not think I will take these on a along term basis as I did before,... Although before I lost nearly 50lbs over a year... I wish I had taken more scentific measure when I took this item. I had glucose pills as a back up and I took handfuls.. or half of 1/4 handfuls... not counted, not the now stated recommended dosage.

Not sure what caused it, but one of the side effects is diarrhea. I experienced that. But because I took this with other supplements, I'm not sure what caused it. I've discontinued use until I can figure out what caused it.

So far the supplement has been quite good. It also is a value for the money
