Love it!
Finally got a chance to use it yesterday and it works great. I love the automatic button for both open and close of the umbrella. It works so much better compared to manual umbrella when you try to get in/out of your car.

No collapse force-close button; no hang strap
Opening the umbrella only takes a press of a button. But collapsing it, requires handling the runner, the shaft and folding the canopy. Also, there is no hang strap on the umbrella. The product looks strong and well designed, but my evaluation of performance is pending.

Durable collapsible umbrella
The media could not be loaded. A sturdy and cleverly-designed collapsible umbrella, and one which should last. This umbrella is a far cry from the collapsible foldable umbrellas we've all had over the years, the ones found in every trash can in rainy, gusty weather. This collapses to a size suitable perhaps for a big coat pocket (a shade over 12"), slightly larger than other collapsible umbrellas, and weighs a bit more too, feeling solid in the hand. The extra weight comes from the fiberglass ribs replacing the flimsy u-shaped ones most collapsible umbrellas use.The details are nice -- the distinctive red fiberglass rods, and the fact that each rib is connect to the fabric at four points along its length. When open the umbrella is 40 inches from tip to tip, enough to keep both you and your package/briefcase/purse out of the rain. The double canopy should keep it from turning inside out in the wind, too, though I haven't tested it in really windy conditions.Apart from its more rugged construction, it differs from others I've used in that it deploys fullly with a single push of a button and the canopy collapses with another push of the button. It's nice to be able to collapse the umbrella and shake water from it before reaching to return it to compact size.I really like this umbrella and plan to make serious use of it in chilly rainy winter weather.

Quality umbrella opens/closes quickly, holds up well
I'm normally someone who goes for the cheapest umbrella, but this reinforced fiberglass umbrella caught my attention and it's well worth the few extra dollars. The umbrella is made of a /quality/ heavy metal central column; it's solid and doesn't flex at the joints. The handle has a comfortable grip and quickly opens at the push of a button, snapping fully and firmly into place. Fiberglass ribs keep the underlying structure in place, keeping fabric tight and flexing ever so slightly; the springs and additional metal arms used to open/close the umbrella also lend extra rigidity. At 40" across you get good rain coverage, even with a steady wind.Closing the umbrella is again as simple as pressing a button; it closes in on itself quickly, and after shaking off excess water, the solid metal compresses if you (as instructed) put a hand on the top/bottom of the central column. Wrapping and securing with the standard Velcro closure, then storing in the included bag is a snap. This is easily the best umbrella I've owned. Plus the red-on-black color scheme "pops" and happens to match my son's school colors (bonus!). While I'm not looking forward to more rainy days I am looking forward to using this umbrella when they roll in.

Excellent, durable umbrella, and easy to open.
This is a well built umbrella. Not only does it have a striking red spiderweb pattern (when looking up into the canopy) it is pretty sturdy. It opens like a bowling ball being dropped on a trampoline -shooting up into the sky, and wanting to drag you along with it. Perfect, as the description says, for a windy day when you have your hands full of groceries. It will not only open the canopy but also extend it fully. (The flip side is that you have to use two hands to close it -as the spring action is pretty strong).I also love that it is designed for wind gusts with a double layered canopy to let wind through if the wind catches it wrong and wants to blow it away. Finally, the fiberglass interior skeleton seems well made and looks like it will hold up better than some other umbrellas that I've had in the past. This is not going to fail you in a storm, and it is big enough to cover 1 person easily, and 2 if you are snug.Recommended.

Great for carrying around
The portable umbrella is compart and easy to carry around. It's not as compact in length compared to more compact umbrellas but those are bulky and do not cover as much area. With the coverage of this umbrella, it's worth the extra length. The wind slits are nice to have to allow for strong winds to flow right through. I do prefer umbrellas now with this technology as it lessens the possibility of the umbrella inverting. The umbrella is easy to open and close with the press of a button but closing it all the way does give it some challenge. The spring to close it is pretty strong which for me says it's hefty for long term use.The biggest drawback for me is usually with the handle. It's big enough but still feels short like other compact umbrellas, their handles are majority short which doesn't allow a good grip. This particular handle doesn't feel as nice. For protecting you from rain and wind if you use it that way, this has plenty of room to keep you mostly dry.
