The one I bought from this website was not made in Japan, unfortunately.

I assume it's made in Japan, but who knows? It lists the manufacturer as Jojirushi Corporation with an address in Osaka, Japan. I've already purchased three - two for gifts and one for me - and I may have just convinced a fellow traveler to get one today while on the train.
