Works great - read all the directions
When my son plugged it in it didn’t work correctly and then he realized he had to turn the laser on. When it turned on it burned a hole in the table which will be a subject of conversation for a long time. However, it works great!

Wow! An Incredible Laser w/Unreal Power & Well Built
I can't express in words how satisfied I am with this laser. The Ray5 w/10W laser module greatly exceeds my expectations. The laser is very well-built, and was rather easy to assemble as long as you follow the directions step-by-step. Took me about 45 minutes to assemble it - as this was my first laser and I've never put one together before. In the short time that I have owned it I have already made fantastic engravings such as coasters, art, monograms, and other fantastic projects. I can't believe how powerful this device is...simply SUBERB! I did my internet due diligence [for two weeks] before purchasing this specific unit by Longer, and I'm glad I did. There were many other laser options out there, but the Ray5 received fantastic reviews from everybody that uses one, and most of them were using the 5W version. I decided to go with a 10W unit because I wanted to make sure that I did not outgrow the 5W unit too quickly - if that's even possible because the 5W unit received rave reviews for what it could do. Plus the fact the Longer Ray5 has a color display in the left front that makes things so much easier when using it. Yes, I had several questions after assembling the laser and starting to use it - and I must say, product support from Longer has been simply incredible. I would email a question and get a response within 24 hours - if not sooner - in every instance. The only way customer support for the Longer could be better, is if the support staff were in the same room with me when I asked a question. Customer support is important to me - but I never anticipated it would be this good. I'm glad I chose this Longer laser. So I'm sure whoever is looking to purchase a laser is going to do their own due diligence. If quality, ease-of-use, power, and importantly - customer support – is important to you, look no further. Choose a Longer Ray5 laser and you will not regret it!

A little difficult to use
I've had some issue with product. It loses connection frequently. I have issue with getting the right setup. I would have returned the product if the return window had not closed. I didn't find it easy to use. Looks like the model I bought is different from the model in the instructions. I tried it on the piece of board that came with it and on a piece of cardboard and the image came out ok. Apart from that I haven't used it because of the constant connection issue, and its a little slow and I have issues positioning my material correctly.

Very good for first time engravers
This engraver works as advertised. As a beginner in engraving, I find myself diving deep into the art form. It's a really good hobby and a means to additional income. My only downside is the assembly took some work, between youtube and the manual it was assembled in 35 minutes. Apart from that I didn't get the washers and some screws as per the package it came in. Nevertheless, that was an easy workaround and I'm happy with this purchase.

Works great out of the box!
Very nicely put together machine, good instructions and easy assembly (1-2 hrs). You'll want a honeycomb table for sure, as well as Lightburn software. After a week I bought air assist and an extractor cover from the Longer website; these improved the cuts and reduced the wood burning scent. I can cut 1/8 in basswood ply at 8-9mm/sec single pass. No problem going through quarter inch marine ply with two passes. I may go to CO2 eventually but this gets the job done with no fuss and 1/3 the price. Update - laser module suddenly lost power (down to about 25%) after exactly 2 years use. Ordered replacement on longer website with no problem. Still 5 stars.

Machine is great
Product arrived, worked for a couple of days then started having problems. Amazon was no help and just directed me to the manufacturer, which made me less than optimistic. Reached out and after a few days of communication it was determined the control board was likely the issue. In less than a week I had a replacement part. To get a part from China to Arizona in 5 days is an A+ to me.

Garbage
The product had great reviews, unfortunately after I bout it used it to do 1 job and it just faded off and stopped etching. Manufacturer won't help and Amazon's customer service is a joke. Now I'm stuck with a 200$ paper weight. Orders waiting on me and I've got to buy another machine. Buy direct for the Manufacturer don't waste time with Amazon.

First experience with a laser etcher
I've used a desktop CNC before, but couldn't do some of the finer writing I needed to do for the lid of an urn. I ended up the the Longer Ray 10W. I did have a problematic power adapter, but Longer replaced it after a few emails. Since I received it, I have already used it on projects that I would have done CNC work previously. It is incredible. I am using Lightburn as my software. For the most part, with my relatively simple projects, the learning curve has been quick. The "medallions" shown in the one photo are both etched and cut using the laser. The size was an exact fit for what I needed.
