Do you think these will be ok for an upright piano?

They seem pretty sturdy but try and check the weight of your piano and what the weight spec is for the items. My friend is pleased and can move her washing machine in n out comfortably. These ones have a brake which is important.

How does this device cope with an even rough structured tiled floor (nonslip tiles)?

These work perfectly on my tumble dryer since my son made a board to fasten them to. I have to pull it out and turn it to use it, before he made board they moved under dryer, we could not lock them to base. I think they would be fine on rough surface as long as you fix them to a board.

Would these be suitable for moving a tall fridge freezer?

Yes 'BUT' be sure the 'feet' of the fridge/freezer are well on the pads and everything is nice and steady, the rollers are adjusted to the right length and tight, as it's a tall thing push as low down as you can and not at the top.

Do these work on carpet ?

Yes! they run quite well, I have mine on carpet no problem.
