These can be extremely dangerous! Handle and clean with great care. I would say this is perfect but this one came with a flaw, the front leg is pretty unlevel which causes it to rock. I thought I could get away with slicing apples without wearing the safety gloves, that wasn't smart, I ended up slicing the top of my fingernail off. Very painful. Just be smart and careful.

I had been looking for a mandoline slicer without breaking the bank. I found a recipe for 'onion skinnies'. (thin sliced onion for onion rings). Glad I found this one. Others are cheap plastic. This worked perfect the first time out. It is too good but not complaining, just keep. your fingers away from the blade! The different cutting blades are built-in, just by rotating a knob. Makes great smooth slices on a wide enough platform (abt 5") for larger onions or wide vegetables. BTW, the onion skinnies were perfect.

I read other reviews and almost didn't purchase this mandolin; Purchased the stainless steel mandoline anyway and absolutely love this slicer. It comes with cut resistant gloves, which I highly recommend wearing whenever handling this slicer. I was able to make super thin potato chips, julienne veggies, french fries, sliced tomatoes. It's awesome. Extremely happy with this purchase. Other reviews stated how dangerous this mandoline is, and that's definately true; which is why I always wear the gloves (which came with the slicer) and I feel perfectly safe using this slicer. I would definitely recommend this to a friend and would buy again when I wear this one out!!!

Slicer is not bad for the price. Very sharp and fast. The hand guard does not ride securely and can contact the blade. Cut resistance glove was missing. Mine

Needed to replace an old mandolin that was becoming dull. This one is very sharp. Cuts vegetables easily. Appreciate the glove included. I expect it to last many years.

Very sharp and thickness levels can be adjusted. Very useful and I use it almost daily. I recommend using the gloves or you may get nicked or cut.

works very well, very sharp as expected, plastic 'food' holder is finicky and attention is needed when you get down to minimum amount so you don't shave off some plastic from the "guides". Wear your protective glove, it slices anything as a family member learnt
