Bought this set for the zebra wood. It arrived very well packaged. The purple heart came with instructions for care. Very beautiful woods that came in this package. It is expensive but as is any exotic woods. The zebra wood was a little warped but not to extent one could not use it.

This was without a doubt the best small hobby box set of lumber I've ever bought of any kind. The boards were straight as my square, the grain looked incredibly good, and it was vibrant and as aesthetically pleasing as any lumber I'm 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧 come across. I'll be doing a lot of business with this company so I hope I didn't get lucky once, but with that box, I highly doubt it. Gorgeous wood, straight as an arrow, and priced more than fairly. Can't recommend enough

I received 8 perfect pieces of wood (2 of each species). There is absolutely no cracks, checks, chips, or discoloration anywhere. All 8 wood pieces are 3/4" x 2" x 12", cut perfectly square on 6 sides, and sanded smooth to around 120 grit or so. All 8 wood pieces have great looking grain and color. The trick to getting a deep "permanent" purple color out of the Purple Heart wood is to sand it, wipe it down with Acetone, and put it in sunlight for about an hour (don't forget to rotate and flip each piece). The UV light works with the Acetone to greatly deepen the purple color, and the Acetone won't raise the wood grain after sanding. After getting the desired shade of purple, lock it in with a few coats of Polyurethane. The deep purple color will last virtually forever if kept indoors. I really like this wood, and I will definitely be purchasing more wood from this seller, in the future, for more woodworking projects. Highly recommended!

I was skeptical at first about purchasing exotic lumber online site unseen essentially. I was worried that there was going to be checking, cups and bows in the pieces. But I was wrong, the eight pieces I purchased came near flawless, nothing you wouldn’t expected when purchasing lumber. All pieces were Planed with Jointed Edges, Square and true to advertise dimensions. 10/10 would buy again
