This Book Is An Excellent Companion To.....
One of the TWO excellent Companion Recipe books to the revised and updated book, The 5:2 Fast Diet written by Michael Mosley and Mimi Spencer. It's packed with recipes to use on fast days and they all look really tasty. My favourite is the Baked Eggs in Pepper minus the chorizo, so easy to make and less than 300 cals per serving and its yummy. Servings are measured for single people, 2 people and so on upwards, you just need to keep track and use common sense. It can also be used for NON Fast days as I've discovered and you wont end up hungry. I'm on 600 cals per fast day (it'll be 800 cals on NON Fast Days when I switch to stage 2) and I divide that between two meals only and Im doin ok so far. At the moment I'm on the stage 1 diet were you treat every day as a fast day because I need to lose weight fast before I switch to stage 2, the 5:2 fast. For me personally, I find I often have all the ingredients I need anyway with a normal shop, there's not much you might have to buy specially. I'm eating new things like Feta and halloumi for the first time in my life and I love them. The book gives all the calories in the recipe which are given as well as the amount of servings so you don't eat too much. It covers meal plans at the back just before the Index. Although it's called the 800 Keto Recipe Book, I can confirm it also gives plenty of recipes for anyone following the 600 cal Fast days. Michael and his Doctor wife Clare Bailey have pulled out all the stops with this book and I am happy to recommend this book to anyone even if they're just looking for a good healthy meal or as a weight maintenance plan. This book is great for everyone, dieters or not.

Quick delivery but not sure this is strictly Keto recipes, i.e., includes bananas, oats & pasta for example. Still some good recipes & interesting read

Good variety
Bought this to help with a carb free diet, it has helped lot. The recipes are good and have me ideas of what else to make. I'm not following me to it calorie counting but my weight loss has impressed me. I find the variety good and I seldom feel hungry or tempted by treats.

This is a great book with lots of tasty recipes for those who want to follow a low calorie low carbohydrate diet . Would definitely recommend.

If you're new to Keto like I was, this is pure perfection!
Absolutely fabulous. Lots of variety, very well calculated, makes it easy to do. Usually, diet recipe books are disappointing, but this is fantastic. I am trying foods I'd never have gone for before. And loving it. Weight is dropping off, even with a few self inflicted deviations. Highly recommend. How sad that Mr Mosley is no longer with us. I think he had even more to give than he already did and his wife is pure genius on the recipe front! If you're considering Keto, I'd say just buy it!

Worth Having on your Bookshelf
I liked this book with easy to follow recipes suitable for vegetarians and meat eaters. I managed to lose stone and a half without too much effort.

The cover says Keto but when you read the introduction it says "Based on low carb Mediterranean-style way of eating...". Recipes with fruits like banana and figs or recipes with wholegrain flour, or side of rice is not keto.

I ordered this book in anticipation of getting good ideas for continuing with the keto plan I have been following. Unfortunately, a good portion of the recipes contain things that are not keto like fruit, dates, seeds and nuts, beans so I am really disappointed and feel cheated. I can't use a lot of the recipes and it also reminds you every day of what you're not allowed to have because you see these delicious meals and feel even more sorry for yourself because you can't have them. What a con. I have bought every book of Michael Mosley and Claire Mosley and when I saw Keto I thought "great!!" But I couldn't have been more wrong.

I own the other 2 Recipe books and was excited to get hold of this one as I prefer to have lower carb diet. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as the other two recipes books. Somehow it gives me the vibe that it was put together quickly without too much thought. As mentioned in other reviews, there is no indication of fat or fibre content for the recipes (the other 2 books had them). Based on the recommended 1-week meal plan (with meat), the shopping list I put together had nearly 80 unique items! Seems a lot and also a lot is wastage as some ingredients are only used once. One improvement is that the page number of the recipe is listed on the meal plan (unlike the blue book). I will be cooking the meals in the coming weeks. Hope it tastes as good as the recipes from the blue book.
