Impossible to crack open. Not with a nut cracker, a nut hammer, or even pliers. It's simply not worth the hassle for what turns out to be a very stale seed inside. DO NOT try this with your teeth because you can chip them ( learned the hard way, unfortunately) There are better brands, shelled, that are much better.

I like this Salted Roasted Watermelon Seed especially because they are made in the USA and do Not have additives like artificial sweeteners or sugar or licorice, etc., salted. I like that they are salty and crunchy roasted. My only small complaint is that the seeds are small compared to the seeds grown in China.

Please don't waste your time on this utem, the seeds are very salty and hard to open.

These are extremely waaaaaay too much work trying to crack them open for no reward at all for all the effort spent trying to open them. The seed inside is so brittle it falls apart or doesn't come out at all. I will not buy these again. I will look for already shelled seeds going forward

These seeds are crispy and fresh. I wish they were made with lemon or sea salt healthier than salt
