Great replacement
Perfect fit. Absolutely fixed the issue and was easy to replace. Schrader valve so better than the OEM and can replace a bad valve easier than replacing the whole connector.

AC Working Perfect Again
Old one on 2004 silverado was spitting out freon. This one took minutes to change and fits perfect, holds pressure well. Cheap part, easy install.

Great replacement for leaky GM plastic-ball valve
Great replacement for our original leaking GM R134a plastic-ball valve. Once you switch to a schrader type valve, you can replace the valve core (if it ever leaks again) without losing freon.

Better Than Chevy OEM High Side Port
Replaces the OEM high side port on my Chevy Suburban. These OEM ports all leak after a time and you can't replace just the core. You can tell if you have one by peering into the bore of the high side fitting. If it looks like a little balck rubber ball it is OEM style if not actual OEM. You have to pump down the whole system and replace the entire port fitting. Once the fitting is off you then have to pull a good vacuum on the entire system before recharging. If you don't have a vacuum pump it is off to the pro's to do the job --- but take this little fiting with you and have them use it instead of OEM replacement. Once this replacement Schrader valve fitting is installed you can just replace the core when it starts to leak, and that can be done with a special tool that does the job without pumping down the system. The Schrader valve looks like the inside of a valve on a tire or bicycle tire. The inside of the valve unscerws and gets replaced while the body of hte fitting stays in place. They sell those special tools here on Amazon. Search for "134a valve core quick remove and replace tool." A bunch of them should pop up at various price levels and kits. BTW the low side port on my Chevy is already a Schrader fitting so I can replace that core the same way with a similar tool for the low side. Peter

it workes 2010 camaro
its supposed to be an improved design with a scrader valve. Over the years I've replaced many of these ball style high side valves. I hope this works better, but that is yet to be determined. It did survive install and is working properly

This is a Schrader valve it leaks less.
For GM vehicles the AC high side is normally a popet (sp) valve. Which are prone to leak. This is a Schrader valve which is better. It didn't get here in time to be included with the new ac compressor. Dorman parts are generally pretty good. I'll hang on to it and it'll go on with the next repair to the ac system.

I'm not certain what possessed GM to fit the terrible ball service valves on these vehicles, but mine was inevitably leaking refrigerant. Not being a standard Schrader valve design makes the fix more challenging, since it can't be done without losing refrigerant, so I'm glad to have future proofed the vehicle with this simple replacement part - that replaces the high side service port with a Schrader valve design. For the home mechanics - I replaced mine without evacuating the system, you just have to be quick to take the old one off and pop the new one on. The refrigerant loss is minimal, as is the cleanup. Very similar to changing the Schrader valve on an inflated tire. Recommend wearing some work gloves since the refrigerant will get cold as it escapes.

Good product, needs special wrench to change

Almost 30% less than the local Napa store price, and super pleased that it even includes a Shrader valve, which I was not expecting!
