Cheaper to buy on line verses in the local big orange store. These are good quality PVC reducers from 3" to 2". I am happy with the purchase.

You'd think that a PVC fitting such as this would be available at you local Big-Box Home Improvement store or even a local irrigation supply, but, no. They have the reducer bushings, which is basically a flat disc that fits into the pipe, and a molded opening to the transition to the smaller diameter. Since this is for a gravity fed system, I needed a reducer that funnels the water from the larger diameter to smaller diameter to make sure there is as little standing water left in the pipe when the water flow stops. I'm using it to route the discharge from a downspout around a new retaining wall so the downspout water does not undermine the new retaining wall, and the discharge is used to irrigate the plants on a hill at the side of the property. The pipe reduces from a 4 inch ABS pipe down to 1 inch PVC to go around the retaining wall. There is no pressure in the system, so mixing PVC and ABS will hold up just fine. Just make sure you use the correct cement, (Transition Cement), when mixing ABS and PVC.
