Fresh breath without the burn
I’ve always liked Listerine but hated how intense it can be—felt like it was burning my mouth off. Decided to try this milder, alcohol-free version and I’m honestly really happy with it. It still leaves my mouth feeling super clean and fresh, but without that harsh sting. The taste is much gentler but still strong enough that you feel like it’s doing something. My breath stays fresh for hours, and I’ve noticed my gums feel healthier overall. I like that it claims 10-in-1 benefits—even if I can’t name them all, it just feels like an all-round good mouthwash. I use it twice a day, and the bottle lasts a decent amount of time too. If you’ve ever found regular Listerine a bit too intense, definitely give this one a go. It’s way more pleasant but still really effective and is affordable.

**9.6/10 - Best 'DAILY' Mouthwash Product on the Market! Perfect Flavour, No Bitter Aftertaste**
I must say that I much prefer this version to the other versions as this one does NOT leave that uncomfortable, nasty, bitter 'film' after each use - it just cleans your mouth and disinfects it without that horrible aftertaste or squeaky layer that feels weird when you use the super strong tasting one! This one is actually very pleasant to use and I always use this one MULTIPLE times EVERY single day (literally every couple of hours)… I can not recommend a mouthwash more than this (other than Corsodyl - but in, instructed amounts, weekly - you can use this (Listerine) daily)!.. It is a great product, leaves no unpleasant aftertaste (which is like 40-60% of the reason you may wish to continue / stop use of a mouthwash) and is a highly trusted AAA brand that has exceptional experience in the oral hygiene field. I use this and a breath spray (for on the go) all day and night without fail and it serves me well - fighting bacteria and ultimately keeping my mouth feeling, tasting and smelling fresh - which is all you expect from a great mouthwash product!.. 100% recommend this flavour over others as it is mild, pleasant, does not leave a weird-tasting, weird-feeling film in & around your mouth and fights off bacteria just the same, if not better (for being more delightful to use) than the strong, bitter flavours... real ace product! I buy 1 every other month and 2 every other month - to ensure that I always have the perfect amount available at ALL times, without fail. Simple to open, for adults / older children - somewhat child-proof cap to invoke a sense of security / safety if handled by toddlers (squeeze-cap, on specific points + twist to open; not easy for weak hands, even stronger ones as it has to be on the exact, perfect 2-point positions with a 3rd motion to unlock / unscrew the cap). ***(IMPORTANT UPDATE)*** I was not 100% sure the first time, but now I am CERTAIN... in the last bottle (last month) + this bottle (this month), I had come across a very strange, rather concerning discovery!.. There was small shards of hard plastic, fragments, just floating around the mouthwash bottle, pieces that have been shattered by something or someone... They are very hard, not soft/malleable like the mouthwash bottles' plastic... all are of identical size + shape (2mm length, 1mm width, 0.3mm height), rectangle/cuboid in nature, with stress-marked edges that suggest a violent shattering - plus microscopic cracks in all the exposed edges. I had multiple mouth-fulls of these plastic fragments on the last bottle, mainly towards the bottom (about 5 pieces each time, for a total of 2 times and then 3 and 1), but on this new bottle, I had 1 shard go in my mouth on the very second use, at the top... that's when I knew it was definitely a consistent issue with the product! I put it on the edge of a chair to take a picture because I spat the last ones out and threw them away immediately - I should have placed it somewhere safer, as it was not there when I went back a few hours later when I wasn't busy, it should still be around that vicinity, on the floor, I have been careful not to clean that area since the day before and will check again, more thoroughly, very soon and will upload a picture of the shard if I find it. ***

A Great All-Round Mouthwash – Gentle, Effective, and Fresh, But Not Quite Perfect
I’ve always been a bit particular about my oral hygiene routine. I brush, floss, and rinse religiously, and I’ve tried more mouthwashes than I can count over the years—from high-strength formulas to natural options, alcohol-based to herbal. I recently picked up the Listerine Total Care Milder Taste (Zero Alcohol) Antibacterial Mouthwash, and after several weeks of daily use, I feel ready to give it a full, honest review. To sum it up early: this is one of the best non-alcohol mouthwashes I’ve tried, with a balanced formula that delivers on freshness and oral care without that harsh burn that many people (myself included) dread. It’s not without a couple of drawbacks, but overall, it’s an excellent addition to a daily dental routine, especially for people with sensitive mouths or who dislike traditional strong Listerine flavors. Let’s break it down. What Makes It Great: 1. Milder Taste That Doesn’t Compromise on Effectiveness The first thing I noticed—and appreciated—was the gentler taste. Traditional Listerine varieties are notorious for their powerful, almost overwhelming intensity, which can sometimes feel more like a punishment than self-care. This milder taste version is much easier on the palate, making it more comfortable for daily use, especially first thing in the morning or before bed. Even with the toned-down flavor, it doesn’t feel like it’s “weak” or watered down. I still get that unmistakable Listerine tingle (just without the burn), and my mouth feels genuinely clean after every use. It’s refreshing without being overpowering—a delicate balance that I think they’ve done really well with this product. 2. Alcohol-Free Formula – Perfect for Sensitive Mouths The zero alcohol formula is a huge win for me. I’ve always found alcohol-based mouthwashes to be drying, and in some cases, they’ve irritated my gums or caused that annoying burning sensation. This one, however, is much gentler on soft tissues. If you have gum sensitivity, canker sores, or just don’t like the sting of alcohol-based rinses, this product is definitely worth considering. And for those wondering: even though it's alcohol-free, it still has that classic Listerine bite—it’s just a bit softer, which makes it far more pleasant to use regularly. 3. 10-in-1 Benefits – Feels Like Comprehensive Protection Listerine markets this as having 10-in-1 benefits, and while I’m not in a lab measuring bacteria levels, I can definitely say it feels comprehensive. It claims to strengthen enamel, protect against plaque, reduce tartar, kill germs, freshen breath, and more. My mouth certainly feels fresher, and I’ve noticed less plaque buildup between dental cleanings since incorporating this rinse. The breath freshening is also worth noting—it’s long-lasting without feeling artificially minty. I’ve had mornings where my breath stays fresh even hours later, which isn’t always the case with other brands. 4. Convenient Size and Design The 500ml bottle is a great size for regular use. It’s not so large that it’s hard to store, but you still get a good amount of product for the price. The flip-top cap design is sturdy and seals well, so there’s no mess or risk of leaks. It’s also easy to pour the right amount without spilling, which is always appreciated during the morning rush. A Few Things That Could Be Better: So why not five stars? 1. Slightly Sweet Aftertaste While the overall flavor is mild and generally pleasant, I’ve noticed there’s a slightly sweet aftertaste that lingers longer than I’d prefer. It’s not a dealbreaker, but it does taste a bit “artificial” toward the end, and that might not appeal to everyone. I think this is a result of the flavoring used to make it more palatable than traditional Listerine, but it’s something I notice every time I use it. 2. No Cap Measuring Cup One design feature I miss is the measuring-cap style top that some other brands (and even other Listerine bottles) include. This version doesn’t come with a built-in measuring cup or cap that doubles as one, which means I have to estimate or pour into a separate cup if I want precision. It's a small inconvenience, but one that adds up, especially when you're groggy in the morning. 3. Price Can Be a Bit High Compared to some other alcohol-free mouthwashes, Listerine tends to sit at a slightly higher price point. You’re paying for the brand and the added benefits, and while I think it’s worth it for the quality, those on a tighter budget might find better value with other brands that perform similarly in basic breath freshening and bacteria control. Final Thoughts: Despite a couple of minor downsides, I genuinely think Listerine Total Care Milder Taste (Zero Alcohol) is a standout product in its category. It’s one of the few mouthwashes that strike a great balance between power and gentleness, offering excellent oral health benefits without the uncomfortable side effects. It’s ideal for: People with sensitive gums or mouths Those who dislike the intense burn of regular Listerine Anyone seeking a more comprehensive rinse than standard breath-freshening mouthwashes Daily users who need something effective but gentle enough for long-term use Since I started using it, I’ve noticed that my mouth feels fresher for longer, my gums look healthier, and my overall dental check-ups have improved slightly (especially in terms of plaque and tartar). It hasn’t replaced brushing or flossing, of course—but it absolutely elevates and completes my routine. While I do think it could be improved with better packaging features and a slightly less sweet aftertaste, I still find myself reaching for this bottle every morning and night, and that says a lot. If you're someone who’s been put off by Listerine’s intensity in the past, this might just be the version that changes your mind. All in all, this is a 4-star winner—an effective, gentle, well-formulated mouthwash that does almost everything right. With just a few tweaks, it could easily be a perfect 5.
