SIGTUNA Bicycle Lock - Bicycle Lock for Road Bike, Mountain Bike, E-Bike, Folding Bike with Bracket

The lock is secure, strong and easy to use. I'm happy to have invested in such a lock. I would recommend them to anybody. The fact it has a D lock and a chain works perfectly at securing my bike to prevent theft! 10/10

Bloody good lock. Looks the business, certainly a deterrent. Really substantial barrel lock. I’ve got easy release wheels the cable let’s you strap the front wheel to the c lock. Really impressive piece of kit. Highly recommend.

Solid D Lock. Easy to attach to the frame of the bike. Good size, small and strong. Easy function and provide great security when parked the bike on the road side. Comes with extra keys in case you lose any.

My review compares an old Kryptonite lock, newer Hiplock DX and this Sigtuna U-lock. All other U-locks require you to hold and insert the shackle into the crossbar body while ensuring key is in correct position and twisting key at the same time to lock. This is a difficult operation for my young kids. This Sigtuna lock when unlocked holds key in crossbar body and at same time holds the dual hinges open. To lock you simply push the two halves closed, the key reverts back neutral position, the dual hinges snap closed and you pull key out. Love it! The Sigtuna key is dual sided so you don't have to worry how it goes in, unlike my single sided Hiplock keys where it only goes in one way, so annoying for the expensive Hiplock. Although more pick-proof, the disc detainer style of the Kryptonite keys are finicky to push in sometimes making locking difficult for my kids. Sigtuna also gives you three keys which is nice. I like the square cross-section design of the Sigtuna shackle, this should help a bit with twist attacks, but the crossbar body is a bit lighter than my other two locks, so thieves may still be able to steal your bike with one cut. The newest Kryptonite U-locks are probably best with it's "Pass-through" crossbar design where thieves may need 2 cuts, but those are several times the price and not as easy to use. I'm unsure the hardening quality of the shackle of my Hiplock compared to Sigtuna, but I can say the later is much thicker. Weight of my Hiplock shackle is 520g where as the Sigtuna is 880g.

I purchased this lock about 10 months ago, and after a bit of getting used to it, I love it! Pros - VERY strong and solid. When you press the top onto the U, it locks with a satisfying "thunk", almost like a bank vault. - THREE keys came with it. It's good to have spares. If I lose one, I can send one spare out to get a copy made an use the other spare with the lock - no down time! - The cable is a very nice addition; it lets me lock my bike however convenient, and thread the cable through both wheels - the instruction sheet that came with the lock had detailed suggestion on how to lock my bike - the lock retains the key and won't release it unless the lock is locked correctly Cons - very minor - there are no instructions on how to get a replacement key if I lose one - the instructions didn't indicate, so it took me a bit to realize that the key doesn't come out when unlocked, and the key will not come out until the lock is locked correctly - it's heavy. I was able to bungee-cord it to my rear rack, but I'd hate to have to carry it around all day. - there is no mounting bracket
