A sturdy pot
Great item to my kitchen collection as I'm able to easily transfer it from the stove-top to the oven. Can easily make family meals enough for 3 people. The red colour is very vibrant.

23cm versus 29cm and chicken
I own both the 23cm (flint) and 29cm (almond) oval casseroles. The smaller one is large enough to make a sauce, soup or large side dish portion for two people, or a smaller side dish portion for four. You could fill it right up and do a curry for two in it, just about! I’ve photographed it next to the 29cm and a medium, 1.4kg chicken. It doesn’t really fit inside the 23cm, although it has plenty of space in the 29cm. You could do a small chicken or poussin in the smaller casserole though. In terms of quality, they’re both really nice. Thick, shiny glaze and no issues so far. Don’t scrub at them with anything like wire wool if you burn something inside it. Just leave it in soak for a while, then take off what you can before soaking again.

It's small but it's the perfect size for a family of 3 of less.

Looks like a genuine Le Crueset. It seems to burn things easily. Maybe because the inside is white/beige it just shows more (?). Doesn’t sear meat all too well. My next purchase will be Staub. Why? because the black coating can withstand and is meant to be used with higher heat and supposedly sears better. This one can get damaged with high heat and instructions say specifically not to use with high heat or else you can damage it. It’s a little unnerving when you want to deglaze a pan with room temperature to cool liquid, but I guess with any ceramic glazed pot you don’t want to put cold liquid into a hot pot. Whatever the case this coating is supposedly more prone to damage than the black Staub coating.

The product is excellent but make sure to double check the size before you place your order.
