Solidly built and supports a good variety of memory cards...
This memory card reader comes in a resealable baggie and inside you’ll find the hub and a user manual. The hub has the following connections:• Interface:• 1 * Memory Stick Pro• 1 * Micro-SD or M2• 1 * SD card slot• 1 * CompactFlash slot• 1 * XD Picture CardThe hub itself is lightweight and has a grey metallic finish to it on its shell. The ports are clearly marked so you won’t have any trouble knowing what each port does. The hub has a non-removable USB-A cable which is to be plugged into your device you want to add this to, but it isn’t very long at 21cm. This may be a problem if you use this with a Surface Pro or a tablet stood up and your USB port is near the top as the hub will hang down so bear in mind your USB slot placement on your device.Plugging it into your computer/device and it’s ready to go straight away, no need for any drivers or anything. Nothing happens when you plug the reader in but as soon as you insert a memory card, Windows picks it up and you can access it straight away with full read and write access to the files. It’s unusual to see support for CF cards which is really helpful to me as I have to have in internal card in my PC to read CF cards, but this reader just needs plugging into a spare USB-A slot to access my files.A solid USB hub for the money. It supports a good selection of memory cards and is reasonably priced.

Well-made card reader with USB-3 fitting. Works very well!
Towards the end of 2022, my laptop hiccuped its last and signalled it was headed to that clouded window in the sky. Now, not having oodles of spare cash (having used most of my savings to get through lockdown - gee thanks, Rishi), I thought I’d try what was termed a ‘renewed’ one from that other online marketplace we all know. And it seemed fine, right up until I put an SD card (High Capacity) in it - part of my work involves creating video content for colleges and schools, so I often use the card readers to transfer this stuff off my Sony camera. And it started well…and…then…went…slower…and..then..slower..and..then..stopped. So, as a sort of ‘glass half full’ kind of chap, I tried again. And again. And again- and that glass was seeming more like half empty. So it seems that my laptop works just fine, but the card reader doesn’t, and so this little gizmo looked like just the thing. The makers seem quite bullish about its capabilities - it has 1 x CF slot, 1 x SD, 1 x TF, 1 x XD, 1 x MS, and 1 x M2. Well, the XD will be useful, because we still have some old Olympus and Fuji gear that uses it, and it will allow us to back up work we thought we might not still have. In addition, the makers say that this card reader can ‘read and write 5 cards at the same time with out ‘plugging’, which can greatly improve your work efficiency.’ I’m not sure I’d like being ‘plugged’ by my memory card reader, but I get the sentiment. For us, however, it’s not an issue- we really only use one card at a time (and tbh I’m not so sure why I’d need to use more?)Anyway, the variety of slots seemed great, and it’s USB3, so transfer speeds were great too. The USB socket was a good, tight, fit, and the unit itself has an all-metal (aluminium) build. For us, it’s been perfect, solving a problem unobtrusively (no drivers needed), well-made, and ‘it just works’.It’s worked so well, we are ordering more at month end!Strongly recommended.

A fantastic piece of kit for photographers - I like it
USB 3.0 Card Reader, 6 in 1 SD/TF/CF/MS/M2/XD Micro SD Memory Card ReaderIf like me, you have several camera systems, then a device like this is for you.Why I rate it✅ it allows all 6 major memory card types to upload photos and video to my laptop; and that includes older and often "obsolete" systems such as the XD cards and Sony Memory Sticks (in total - takes SD/TF/CF/MS/M2/XD)✅ Yes, Amazon has sold such devices before but only rarely do you have all 6 major systems - and unlike my old alternative, this is made of aluminium and is way better built than my frail plastic alternative.✅ I tested uploading to a MacBook via the adapter vs the direct SD card - and speeds were identical. It is rated as USB-3, so can transfer at "up to" 5GBPS, but remember the maximum speed will be set by the memory card in most cases unless you have the latest high speed devices.✅ I had no dropouts from my test runs with either CF card, SD, Micro SD✅ I tested toughness by dropping 1m onto a hard floor - and it still worked.👎🏻 no downsides that I can see. - and I have tested with a CF card, an SD, and a Micro SD card. Each slotted in well and connected first time. Another buyer reporting on Amazon has had trouble with the SONY MS connection, so I don't know if this is a general problem of a one-off issue. The advantage here is that it is an Amazon UK sourced product - so returning a faulty product is straightforward compared with buying from many online shops.♥️ CONCLUSION: if you own several different camera systems - then this is a "must have" device. It replaces 3 different ones in my laptop bag.UPDATED - now after many weeks of use - including a 2 week trip away where it was used daily - it is still working well.
