I'm very pleased with the WAHL Balding hair clipper. It is a very close cut which is exactly what I need and on reflection, I wonder why I have only just discovered it given I've been shaving my head for the past 30 years. It is light weight and very ergonomic to handle compared to my previous WAHL clipper. The only downside is that I've noticed a hairline crack on the case but have decided to keep it as it works perfectly.

Great product my 3rd set

I don't like the look or feel of a completely bald head. It's too shiny, hats slip off and you feel the cold more easily. And I get a nasty, itchy scalp when the hairs start to push back through the skin, leaving bumps that can't be shaved again for another week in case I get cuts.Over the past few years, I have bought several clippers and none of them cut shorter than 0.5mm. Now that's pretty short but when you are balding, you want to get it as short as you can but in my case, without shaving it all off. I resorted to using the Babyliss I-Trimmer, which is supposed to be for stubble but at 0.4mm (supposedly) was the best thing I could find. I then discovered that using the beard trimmer on my Panasonic shaver, gave me the closeness I desired. However, using a small, flimsy and poorly positioned beard trimmer to shave your head, is a cumbersome and time-consuming operation!The Wahl Balding Clipper gives the same closeness as the trimmer but with none of the hassle. Some reviewers complain of cuts - this is virtually impossible if you set the blades up correctly. READ THE INSTRUCTIONS! My clipper was actually not cutting short enough for my liking when I first tried it. So I loosened the two screws behind the blades and re-aligned them so that it was almost at 0.0. It was a bit fiddly re-positioning the blades but I won't ever have to do it again, as I now have the perfect close shave. Literally less than 5 mins to do my whole head - no mess, no cuts, no rash, very little noise and as close as you can get without a wet shave.I cannot recommend this highly enough, only wish I'd known about it years ago. Got mine from Sahara Beauty - said would take 3-5 days, got it NEXT DAY! Also recommended!

I bought my first set of balding clippers over 20yrs ago and they were great, gave a very close shave with no damage, when the motor finally gave up it was a no brainer to buy another set, but these newer versions are terrible the blades don’t line up so you have one side that doesn’t cut as short and the other side the blade hangs over so cuts the skin and causes massive irritation, I thought it might have just been the blades so bought new blades but it’s exactly the same, with no way of adjusting them it makes it impossible to line them up properly. I then decided to buy some top of the range expensive Whal professional cordless clippers for doing my face and they are terrible too they catch all the time and pull the hair. What has happened to whal they used to be the professionals choice but their quality has gone right down hill, I will never buy any of their products again.

I gave this 4 stars cos there's no case or nothing with it. You don't want dust getting in these things so they need to be covered and you get nothing.The quality is good and you get a good close cut. If you want closer than this you need a razor and soap.It's easy on the skin for such a close cut. People say it's heavy, but that shows the quality. What do they want, light plastic feel.This feels good and does the job well.You get a good long cable.This is as good as you,l get for the money.

I have been shaving my head with clippers for about 15 years. I started using cheaper "Home" clippers and I strongly advise that people avoid them as the motors/batteries are too weak so they slow down when cutting and pull at your hair. Also whilst they are fine for a mother cutting her kids hair a few times a year they don't tend to last very long when used at least once a week. In short they are a false economy so don't be tempted by the lower price and cordless capability.I upgraded from those to the Wahl Professional Super Taper clippers (white back) which are absolutely superb due to being designed to survive daily use with junky blades and a strong mains powered motor.These Balding clippers appear to be pretty much identical to the Super Tapers aside from blades. You get what appears to be the same case and the motor sounds similar and is powerful enough to glide through the thickest hair without pulling at the roots.Addressing some of the issues raised in previous reviews - I haven't noticed that it is any louder or prone to vibration than the Super Tapers. It could be those reviewers had a faulty product or were not familiar with the extra power you get from the industrial mains motor versus the cheaper "home" clippers.I also had no issues with razor burn. It was every bit as comfortable as the Super Tapers.In terms of results I believe this is as short as you will ever get your hair with a set of clippers. The only way to get closer is to use an electric foil shaver or a razor blade. It cuts noticeably shorter than the Super Tapers do on their closest setting. It isn't as close as a foil face shaver but it is a lot quicker. I'd say the results are closer to a foil face shaver than they are to the Super Tapers. Perhaps the same as a foil face shaver + 12 hours growth depending on how fast your hair grows.If you are someone that is half bald and trying to hide it then you might want to stick to a foil shaver/razors especially if you have dark hair like me as you will still have a "5 o clock shadow" after shaving with these. That being said, if you want to use a foil face shaver then using these balding clippers first would really speed up that job.For those that just want the fastest and closest cut possible from a pair of clippers these are the ultimate.
