Q: Is this razor adjustable?

This razor isn't adjustable, but... It's possible to vary the blade gap using "shims" made from old cut down blades. Shim production involves snipping the cutting edges off of the old blade and mounting them underneath the new blade in the razor. Easy to do, but also very easy to cut your fingers to shreds whilst making them. I use four shims and this gives a much more aggressive shave. There are several shim production guides online.

Q: I am currently using Gillet power which causing me lots of shaving rash and irritation..do you think this item will help??

Your shaving rash could be caused by the number of blades and the closeness of the shave from the Gillette Power. As their advertisement used to show, each proceeding blade pulled the hair slightly higher than the surface of the skin. However, after the razor passed, it causes the hair follicle to draw back to it's normal position, with the remaining, now cut sharp edge of the hair, below the surface of the skin. And it's this that can cause the shaving rash, as you have a sharp edge, growing out from beneath the skin. As for the skin irritation, this can be caused by the number of blades literally scraping the surface of skin off your face, leaving it feeling raw and burnt. I'm not saying that the above can't happen with double edge razors, as there are a few really aggressive razors (due to blade angle/exposure etc) out there. However, the Edwin Jagger DE89 head is a mild razor with precise blade exposure due to the quality of the top cap and bottom cap alignment. Use a good quality shaving cream/soap and brush and a decent razor blade with an aftershave balm and you'll be nearer to reducing the irritation and rash. If you're new to DE shaving there's loads of useful info out there. Look out for Geo Fatboy from Shavenation. He has some brilliant informative videos which will help you loads.

Q: Is this razor suitable for “manscaping”?

I mean you 'could'... but it would take a braver man than me to take this type of razor to that area! The blades you use in this type of razor (double edged razor blades) are much sharper than the blades in a cartridge razor (e.g. Gillette), so you'd have to be extremely careful, and would probably still cut yourself, at least the first few times. I really wouldn't recommend it unless you are very familiar with this style of razor
