SolarCentre® Truro Solar Powered Outdoor Wall Light

What is not to love about a light that looks so stylish and costs nothing to run. I purchased these to place either side of my front door which runs down the back of a rather dimly lit side return and was looking for something akin to a standard exterior halogen downlighter, but required no mains connection; these fitted the bill perfectly, albeit a little larger than it looks in the pictures. However, once they had both been mounted on the wall, they looked ideally scaled and performed perfectly from the first night onwards. Despite not much daylight reaching the side return, the little light the cells did receive was well used, with good light output all night. Don't expect an arc lamp output, but two of these are adequate enough for your door key to find its target lock, even in the dead of night, so it scores highly from me...plus did I mention its free to run! The only negative / critisicm I could make if we are being really picky, is that the mounting screws on the side are very visible and spoil what is otherwise a uniform and sleek exterior, but that is a minor thing and certainly does not ruin a perfect exterior solar light. In fact this has to rate as one of the most stylish; try looking for any other half-decent exterior solar powered light and you'll see what I mean; they all looked like they've been designed in the dark...there's a pun there somewhere!

Ok product but obviously doesn’t work winter time as no light collects

Look good, bright enough as a pair either side of door. Worked in evenings after days of poor sunlight, but so far have not lasted all night. Excellent purchase spoilt by use of non stainless fixing screws, now showing runs of rust on and below them

Have the light on its lower setting and it illuminates the house number well enough. On a bright February day just the morning sun (the house faces largely East) was enough to keep the light on till dawn. On dull days the light's on till midnight at least. Looks smart and reasonably easy to install though it helps to have a helping pair of hands when attaching the light to the wall bracket (fiddly small screws on each side). Had the item for less than a month so far so durability remains to be established. Happy with the purchase so far. Update one year on: still working but still with issue that cannot last the night in winter (managed to do so in summer though).

I originally purchased three units back in 2019 (5 years ago) to go on my wall at the front of the house. Whilst these are not the brightest lights, they look nice and "did the job". During the summer months (North West England) they would stay on almost all night when new, but in winter not very long at all - perhaps from dusk until 7-8pm so only a few hours. Fast forward 5 years, and alas only one light remains functional. The other two appear to have succumbed to damp/moisture damage which is a little disappointing but not entirely unexpected, as they didn't have any sort of barrier built in. Recently, out of curiosity if nothing else, I ordered one replacement unit in the hope that perhaps the solar panels had been upgraded (as the technology in this area is moving at a rapid pace) and maybe even the LED & batteries too? We live in hope! Sadly my hopes were unfounded, as the replacement unit was exactly the same spec as the ones from 5 years ago - the only difference being they appear to now have a foam seal in the clear plastic bottom, presumably in an effort to avoid the damp issue described above. TL;DR - Units exactly the same as 2019 model in terms of solar panel/batteries/LED - New units appear to have some form of moisture barrier (doesn't seem very robust) - Be careful with the metal casing as it can be sharp - Don't expect them to stay on for long in the winter months - Relatively easy to mount on wall

The product is well made, instructions are easy to follow however the light given off is very disappointing. I was expecting about 200% more light than I got. I have just had a decking area fitted and bought these to mount on 1 wall to light up the bbq area thinking 4 would allow me to get cooking for the family and see what I was doing whilst cooking late evening. So all mounted we flashed up the bbq and all was well until the natural light left us and these 4 lights came on. All I could see was the top of the bbq, nothing else. The light span is about 2ft at the most and the light is warm white which for me should never ever be sold as an outdoor light. On the plus side have attached to to rack of the wood poles that are next to the step up onto the decking and they do stop u from tripping over in the dark. Update it’s packed in after two years all 4 of them Not worth buying

Not sure about quality, but working good for now. Easy to install, light quality is good!

This is an awesome little light, great looking, relatively compact, easy to fit and best of all it is free to power. We use it to light up our house sign, I took it out of the box and had fitted it within 10 minutes. The light came on automatically as the night grew in and was still active at 2AM when I went to bed. I will be adding 2 more of these to guide people around to the front of our house in the dark and other by the garage. Can't recommend more. Parfaite sur un pilier de portail, éclaire bien l'entrée

Il faretto è bello, purtroppo dura molto poco a luce solare. Si spegne dopo 2/3 ore.

... wir haben eine sonnenseitige Terrasse. Einfach und schnell montiert und mit 2 Beleuchtungsstufen - Stufe 1: sehr hell = kürzere Akkulaufzeit am Abend und Stufe 2: hell = Akkulaufzeit >6h. Wir nützen im Winter die Terrasse nicht => praktisch: man kann die Lampen auch ausschalten. Schauen stylish aus und erfüllen gänzlich ihren Zweck. Preis - Leistung daher Top. Würde ich wieder kaufen.

Die Lampen sind sehr schön und durch den verwendeten Edelstahl sehr edel im Aussehen. Der Solar Sensor macht das anbringen an der Wand sehr einfach, da dieser geneigt zur Vorderseite der Lampe steht. Lichtausbeute ist soweit okay, ist natürlich nicht super hell, aber als Ambiente Beleuchtung total ausreichend. Bei uns leuchten die Lampen ca. 8 Stunden, zumindest im Winter, aber sie sind auch an der Südseite unseres Hauses angebracht. Ich würde diese Lampen jederzeit wieder kaufen, von mir jedenfalls eine klare Kaufempfehlung.
