A very nice rosary, beautiful in its simplicity. I’ve had several of the gemstone and beaded ones and could never quite get on with them. They felt awkward to use - either too slippy or heavy and awkward and the wired ones would eventually come apart. Some were just downright uninspiring. As a last resort I decided to come completely away from my usual choice and try out one of these wooden ones which I’ve never used before, in the hopes I might find it more practical. I have not been disappointed and think I may have finally made the right choice. Not only is it light and easy to use but it’s aesthetically pleasing in its simplicity and robustness. I love the larger cross, made of a nice lacquered olive wood, with brass Jesus and brass double faced medal. I think the cord is stronger too than your typical wired ones. It is of a good quality and well made and the oval shape of the beads runs through your fingers nicely. This will get good use now and I expect it to last me a long time. Slightly lighter wood than is pictured, the outdoors photo on the slate is more true to colour and the beads vary in shade which breaks up the monotony. The crucifix is a more medium colour which goes well with the brass figure of our Lord and it feels nice and chunky to hold. Personally I prefer a larger cross. I’m very pleased with my purchase and for the price it’s very well made. Comes presented in a cute old fashioned ‘money bag’ style, velvet pouch with a velvet drawstring. Personally, I love it.

This is a chunky rosary that endures. The wooden beads are sturdy and it has a good weight to it. I have no complaints.

UPDATE: Still perfect after 7 months of use. I waited until I had prayed with it a dozen or so times, before leaving my review. However, I could immediately tell it was well made, nicely finished and beautiful to pray with. The chunky crucifix, the large perfectly placed beads and solid, strong medal (Sacred Heart Of Jesus on one side, Miraculous Medal on the other side) mean you always know exactly where you are. The cord used seems very robust, as do the wooden beads and crucifix. It's something that should last years of regular use. It's worth far more than the price I paid in July 2023, £12:49. I fully recommend this rosary. An easy 5 star rating. Outstanding value.
