The image makes it look like its small chunks, but its actually a very fine powder. I suggest using a coffee filter if you're using this to make tea. Smells fresh, tastes like the sassafras tea I used to make out of fresh roots as a kid.

I enjoyed the tea but the price is pretty steep. I have sassafras trees in my yard and have made tea from time to time using the root bark from a fallen tree. It is a challenge to collect it, so I cannot argue the price. For a robust flavor, it takes about 1/2-TBSP for a standard coffee mug and a 1-TBSP for a travel mug. So 1 oz. (the size I got) doesn't last long.

Bought for a friend from KY, she grew up drinking sassafras tea. She told me the smell and taste were amazing and brought back so many memories from her childhood and she will be buying more of this sassafras root. I’d say this was a win!!

Love this tea with basswood honey. It came in a great bag for storing

This is a very strong root beer flavor. I don’t think it’s appropriate for making tea. It is too fine of a grind to use in a tea infuser. I had to use a little teabags. Very expensive I would not buy this again. I prefer a looser tea. This was extremely expensive for what I got.
