Excellent device once I’d worked out how to connect it to my Kenwood DMX7722DABS. Endless searches on the internet revealed nothing helpful. Anyway, pleased to say that after a good afternoon of tinkering, bouncing balls , drinking tea, scratching and flicking rubber bands, all is working beautifully. If I get enough asks, I’ll do a YouTube on how to wire for the Kenwood 7722.

I got these to support my new Android head unit in my old van. The van is pre-Canbus and fancy steering wheel controls, so these are ideal. I wired in the control unit with no issues into switched live, ground and the key1 and key2 connections to the stereo. The head unit has software to activate each button and it works flawlessly. The modules connect wirelessly to the control unit and, as they are battery powered, they're effectively live at all times, although only when a key is pressed. They are USB rechargeable. After two months there's no indication that they need charging and they are supplied with some handy silicone cups so you can easily remove them when they do. I tried the controls in several locations, but the lack of a flat surface on the steering wheel and centre console made it difficult to find a suitable position. In the end I designed and 3D printed some mounts to stick to the side of the steering wheel, which work really well considering the alternatives.Altogether, they're an excellent addition.

Changed the head unit for an Android based one and went for the biggest screen with no manual controls on the headdunit, then realised very hard to control the volume! connections were super easy to the key1 &2 wires from the head unit, the only challenge was finding an ignition switched live, all the feeds to the radio were permanent. Ended up coming from the fuse box. a little fiddly to get the backing off the adhesive pads, and I have ended up sticking the buttons direct to steering wheel as you sometimes knock them out of the rubber holders. will just use a power pack to charge in situ when needed.

I'm using a Grundig stereo that has Key 1/Key2 inputs. This worked perfectly first time. Only issue was that the Grundig head unit doesn't offer mapping for previous/next buttons, which is annoying. All the other functions work great though.

I bought these to go along with a Sony CarPlay radio that I put in my mk4 vw polo. It makes controlling music and calls so much easier.

Very impressed with the performance, just like factory fitted, exceptional battery life (months of daily usage and still keeps going 👏)
