Chilla-Grilla Restaurant Grade Charcoal, 12kg Bag Lumpwood Charcoal

After trying countless brands, the Big K Chilla-Grilla is now my go-to charcoal, especially for my Kamado Joe. While it might be slightly pricier on Amazon, the convenience of home delivery and the quality are absolutely worth it. Pros: Large 12kg bag provides excellent value Restaurant grade quality - consistent burn and heat Large, uniform lumps with minimal dust/small fragments Clean burn with excellent heat retention Perfect for ceramic grills like Kamado Joe No strange chemical odors Cons: Slightly more expensive than supermarket brands The charcoal lights easily, burns consistently, and gives a fantastic even heat that's crucial for perfect grilling and smoking. I've found it performs significantly better than cheaper alternatives. For serious BBQ enthusiasts who want reliable, high-quality fuel, this is the charcoal to choose. Highly recommended for ceramic grill owners and serious BBQ fans who don't want to compromise on fuel quality. Even used this to cook our Christmas Turkey this year!

Great charcoal, burns well and great flavour on the bbq. Bag size means you get multiple cooks.

Bit pricey but huge bag and very good quality, easy to light and less smokey then say supermarket charcoal. Very good.

Why waste your money on the rubbish charcoal chips they sell at Tescos or B&Q? This stuff is much, much better. Sure it's more expensive but it comes in a large 12kg bag filled with big chunks of charcoal, not the dust you usually find in the supermarket stuff. It lights well (I use a chimney) and is ready to use in about 20 mins. A bit of smoke at the beginning but that's more the paper I use to light with. After that, it burns clean with no smell other than delicious burning charcoal. It delivers excellent heat vs the supermarket stuff with a slower burn so you'll get more BBQ bang for your buck plus, it's delivered to your door! Would be excellent for a long, slow cook too but I haven't tried that yet. I'll never buy the "other stuff" again.

During lockdown we could not stock up with our usual charcoal from a trade outlet and I don't like briquettes and even most of those I could find were the "quick lighting" type which I don't need as our barbeque has a gas system for lighting the charcoal. This natural charcoal does not burn as long as briquettes but burns a lot hotter and is ideal for a good steaks. In comparison with our normal purchase these were the same price (without us needing to travel to buy) and the same quality. One thing to note is that this type of charcoal comes in very varying sized lumps and we keep a hammer handy to break up the larger pieces. Same with this as our normal purchase. Will definitely buy again. Much easier than travelling to the trade outlet for the same product at the same price.

Mostly small pieces, maybe 20% of them fall through the grille and are never burned. Short burning, with a good quality smoke - high ash. It is fun cooking with them, but I won't be in a hurry to buy these again. I like the Big K charcoal that comes in a cardboard box.

Very pleased with these one. They light easy and I have not issues. I order them again and again. It's not cheap but it worth it.

Charbon de bois de Qualité supérieur , très bon allumage et chaleur superbe , de beau gros morceaux de charbon sont dans le sac .
