This thing is a total game changer for rushed mornings. Holds plenty for my giant oatmeal obsession, steam vent actually prevents the microwave apocalypse, and it cleans up stupid easy even when I let it sit. Red color is bright enough that I don't lose it in the sink pile. Still kicking after daily beatings no cracks, no weird smells. If breakfast is your weak spot, this bowl's got your back. While visiting family in New Zealand, I noticed one of them using a Sistema microwave container, and I was instantly impressed by how simple yet clever the design was. When I got back to the UK, I discovered that Sistema products are available on Amazon, so I decided to try one for myself. I ordered the Sistema Microwave Round Bowl (915 ml) with Steam Release Vent — priced around £5, which I thought was excellent value for something so practical. As usual, it arrived the next day with Prime, and that’s always a big plus in my book. Straight out of the box, the quality stood out. The plastic feels thick, durable, and well-made, and the signature Sistema locking clips on the lid are solid — not flimsy like many cheaper alternatives. They click firmly into place and give real confidence that the lid won’t come loose while heating. Before using it, I gave it a quick wash, then tested it with some pre-cooked basmati rice. I added a splash of water, opened the steam vent, and microwaved it for just two minutes. The result? Perfectly heated rice, light and fluffy — and not a single bit of mess inside the microwave. I also really appreciate that Sistema uses BPA-free plastic, which is important to me, especially as someone who’s become more health-conscious since being in remission from cancer. It’s reassuring to know the materials are safe as well as durable. The rounded interior makes food easy to scoop out, and the bright colour means it’s easy to spot in the cupboard. It’s a small thing, but it adds to the overall sense of good design and attention to detail. This is one of those products that simply works — no fuss, no gimmicks, just smart design and reliable performance. I’ve already got my eye on a few other Sistema containers to add to the collection! Verdict: Excellent quality, heats food perfectly, and built to last. Highly recommended — Sistema really has mastered the art of microwave cookware.

A superb bowl for microwaving soup, baked beans etc; and very easy to wash up.

Works really well, and honestly the only thing stopping a 5 star review is the durability of the plastic. It was sent in a lightly padded envelope and arrived scuffed on the outside, and quickly scuffed up inside too. It also stained the first time I did tomato soup. Still, it's really handy. Soup, beans, veg, tinned rice pudding etc all heat evenly and the handle always stays cool. Scrambled eggs works brilliantly and is genuinely easy to clean up. It seals properly and the 4 clasps hold the lid tightly. I'll definitely replace it once it gets *too* worn, either with another one of these or a higher quality version of this idea. Maybe quality isn't the right word, the plastic is free of all the nasty stuff after all, but less liable to staining and scratching. Definitely buy if you microwave a lot of tinned stuff, steamy stuff and liquids, it genuinely works as well as advertised which is a rarety these days. If it was made of more durable materials I'd already own at least one more. I'm still thinking of buying a few more Sistema microwave products, I just wanna see how this one holds up over time.

This is a high quality microwave bowl. The plastic is glossy and smooth, and better than cheap bowls. It has a plastic handle to make it easier to hold when the contents are hot. It comes with a vent, so that it can't buckle when the contents are heated - as my old bowl did. Phalate and BPA free as well, and the price is nice. The only odd thing about the bowl is the size of it. My old bowl was 15 cm across the diagonal, the new one is advertised as being 17 cm across the diagonal. When it arrived it was 13 cm across the diagonal, and noticeably smaller - plus a 2 cm handle. You should probably make allowances for this.

I've bought stuff made by the same manufacturer before and was impressed by the quality. Looking a the images of this item the clips and microwave valve give the impression of a product that will be very robust. Sadly this is far from the truth! The container is in no way sealed, you must keep it upright and avoid any rocking motion at all times to prevent spillages. Even rocking a few times gently from side to side will cause a thick soup to start leaking out of the lid. What is the point in the microwave valve when it leaks so much anyway? We bought two different colours of the same product and they both leak the same so I don't think we had a duff one. We won't be buying them again, sadly now they have been used we can't return them.

Great size for a two egg omelette:) Enough capacity for shop bought microwave meals too. The steam outlet is firm and accurate and the clip closure is also tight and secure. I like the red colour - many tomato based dishes stain white and light coloured containers - so this is a good solution.

We recently came across the Sistema microwave cookware and ordered four versions of it. It is everything we'd hoped for. Easy to clean, designed for the microwave, adjustable vent, secure lid, etc. This version is great for reheating a dinner or anything which fits. It is not very tall which means you can eat right out of it if you want. Other models are bigger or smaller, some for steaming, cooking rice, etc. All that we have tried are excellent.
