Review: excellent for small children approx age 4 to 9 - I wanted to give my 7 year old some basic music lessons myself and wanted some material to help me as I am not a music teacher and didn't want to put her off with a dry boring approach. This first book first introduces some different length notes with their names and appearance, what stave and clef are and what simple time signatures mean. It goes on to show the pitch of a few notes and where to find them on a keyboard some basic fingering etc The first notes learnt are the cdefg below middle c. These are fine for piano of course but as we are learning guitar it is an octave below the notes beginner guitarists usually start with but not a big issue. I can't recommend the approach the book takes highly enough. The information is presented in tiny increments with lots of repetition and there are loads of colourful stickers to place in boxes, matching games, mazes etc giving the feel of an entertaining activity book. Would think it suitable for an interested 4 year old and still not too insulting for 9 or 10 year old. Obviously not for adults! My daughter has absorbed and retained all the information presented in a painless way and is thoroughly enjoying the game of clapping out rythms to many of mummy's simpler pieces of music. Will be buying further books in the series ASAP. Review: Ideal learning tool for piano - Arrived timeously. Ideal for pre schoolers and p1

Can't get enough theory!
My six year old son was addicted to this book - Theory Made Easy level 1. He would get his book and sit quite happily and complete a couple of pages every morning when he woke up and again at night instead of a bedtime story. Needless to say book was finished within a couple of weeks! Brilliant for early learners. Fun to use and easy to follow. Stickers a great attraction.

Great series, my children have loved it, but some stickers can unstick themselves too easily
A great series for young children. It does require some basic maths abilities, for example being confident in the knowledge of the different combinations that add up to 4, so you can't start them too early on the theory, but the stickers really help and encourage remembering and recall. My only complaint with this, and the other books in the series, is that the stickers on the edge of the sticker page always come off by themselves once you've started opening the book and it bends on its binding. They can then fall out or get stuck on your arm when you're reaching across the book, and can easily get lost. If the stickers were provided on more pages and not up to the edge, this phenomenon would resolve itself. This is the only reason I couldn't give 5 stars.

Easy to understand
This is a great product that is easy for all my children to understand (ages 5,7&8) They all learn different instruments, but although this is aimed more for a pianist, it works really well. Clear, colourful, easy progression steps. Highly recommend this for younger children. The "games " repeat the learning to enable complete understanding of a new concept. Not all tasks require you to read- there are colouring, drawing and matching tasks too.

this book is really great for very little kids. It makes theory for 4-6 year olds really fun and easy. they love the book more than playing the piano! And they learn the theory really well!

The book is very attractive and interesting for a beginner, although my daughter hasn't started yet, but i am sure that she will enjoyed it.
