I was very close to buying a budget copy of P90x of any retailer who could give me it for less than the asking price of £106. However I took the hit and bought it off desertcart and got a genuine copy. I am very glad I did. When I bought insanity I got it for around £45 from some random retailer. The manuals were not complete and were full of typos, and most importantly all the bonus disks were faulty and would not play properly. The genuine copy you get from here is worth EVERY PENNY. it will work, it has all the content and if its faulty you can return it!! When you consider your grocery shop for a week could hit £100, and you put £70 of fuel in your car this week, it is not much to ask for £100 for P90x which (if you do as it says) will turn your life around! It includes all the workouts, online motivation and diet plans that you need to succeed. Compared to insanity, the diet plan is better. it contains much more info and several options to suit you, including a 'portion plan option' for people like me who just wanna grab some food and go - a cup of veg, a half cup of chicken, couple ounces of cheese etc or a more complex 'meal plan' approach for folks who like to plan everything and eat exactly what the plan says. The workouts are intense and challenging. P90x is designed around getting maximum results using supplements. you can do P90x without supplements, but you will suffer more and get slightly less results. I did not use the P90x supplements as you cant get them in the UK yet. I used Berocca for vitamin and S.I.S. REGO for post-workout recovery. I also used For Goodness Shakes for post-workout. These are not essential but do help to cut down on the pain and recovery time for your muscles. I didnt use pure protein supplements as I have a body type that gains muscle well naturally and I have never needed additional protein. You know your own body, go with what you know. The amazing thing about P90x is IF YOU DO WHAT IS SAYS you will get absolutely amazing results. you will get ripped in 90 days. This will not happen for everybody. Mainly because many people will look at the advised diet and go, 'no, I know better'. The only problem i found was that the introduction DVD would not work, as it was still in US configuration! The two books that come with it are helpful, one with diet tips, recipes etc and the other with the exercise routines and week by week exercise plan. You will need some basic equipment in order to do some of the exercises and you can find out what you need an the beachbody website. This is one of the best buys i've made in a long time and you should buy it to!!

P90X DVD set
This is not a beginners fitness programme. Ideally you need a good level of fitness to start or it will be tough. It is a great product. 13 DVD's with a wide variety of exercises. (This DVD set did not include the full P90X instruction book, so you need to know a bit about fitness, diet etc.) Each DVD demonstrates workouts of about 1-hour and all advise caution to work to your own level...so it need not be extreme....you don't have to become a body builder! From a good fitness base after only 4 weeks I am fitter, a few pounds lighter (without trying) and although I could feel when I had done a full programme (to my 60's level) I have had no adverse effects. If you are dedicated to wanting to get fit, approach P90X carefully to start and are happy to follow a DVD via TV or laptop....I rate this product highly recommendable.

Amazing
So.. a friend of mine told me about the P90X program and showed me some of the results that people had been having and I was intrigued so see if it would actually work. I received the box set within a few days and couldn't wait to start. The program works in 3 phases... you can reserach online the order in which to do it - and I assure you, this is not for the faint hearted. It's an intense program, but you are left feeling incredible afterwards. It's great that each day is different so that you don't get bored. Each day you have to work out for at least an hour, 6 days a week which can be a lot for some, but the results are most definitely worth it!! I changed my diet at the start of the program to a high protein, lower carbs and low fat and I lost 10lb in two weeks! My body has changed... I've shed fat and developed muscles where I didn't even know I had them! The only accessories you really need are some decent resistance bands (I hook them over the top of the bannister for the pull up sections) and some fairly heavy weights will be useful. The dvds show some alternate versions if you find some moves too hard. I've tried so many fitness dvds, but this has to be the ultimate in home fitness. I love Tony Horton, the guy who instructs the dvds - he's very inspirational and keeps you motivated! This is a brilliant investment and I 100% definitely recommend it! P90X - BRING IT!!! :-)

So annoyed, got back from holiday looking forward to starting the programme only to find the DVDs are not for UK Region!!! Returned DVDs and refund was issued promptly. I must say apart from the DVDs not working, the service was good.

Very good with some negatives
I bought P90x to get fitter, stronger and get a better body with overall aim of being confident and strong enough to go to the gym without feeling "out of place" Positives I am only 3 weeks in but can see and feel changes and other people have also made comments so it is working and cannot wait to finish it. People say you need a lot of equipment, a set of weights, any pull up bar and bands are all that is required and can be purchased on this site relatively cheaply. Tony Horton does talk a lot and can be seen as talking for the sake of it, however he makes it funny and enjoyable and that is very important when watching the same DVD for the 5,6,7th time. Each workout has Tony + 3 demonstrators each of which does the same exercises to a different difficulty level allowing progress within the same workout by following different people. I have been doing this programme whilst training for half marathons without any negative effects, as the cardio is not purely legs. Yoga, Kempo and Plyometrics are very enjoyable and a change from weights. A P90X excel spreadsheet is available on their website to help track progress. Negatives You need quite a lot of space for Plyometrics as you are essentially jumping around. Some workouts such as yoga are difficult to follow when stretching and unable to see your TV/Laptop, so you may have to stop and look the first time through. You may get sick of Tony mentioning recovery drinks and the short videos selling stuff at the end. THE MAIN NEGATIVE is that the DVDs are hard/sometimes impossible to save to a hard drive and some don't play properly on my DVD player, this is an issue as i would prefer to carry a small hard drive than the full set of DVDs. I would still recommend it to anyone, it hurts but it's worth it, especially Ab Ripper X which quoting Tony Horton "I hate it! but i love it" - 15mins of hell

No good in Europe - Region 1 DVDs
Oh dear, I was really looking forward to this programme following the recommendation from a friend (in the USA) who has really shaped up whilst using this. Anyway, despite the blurb telling us they are region zero, they are in fact region 1 and won't play on most UK DVD or Blu-Ray players. I bought the P90X programme, door chin-up bar, and tension straps, but sent the whole lot back when the DVDs wouldn't play. Incidentally, I checked in multiple players, and my Macbook Pro identified the DVDs as region 1. So, in summary: Great service from Amazon dealing promptly with my problem and sending everything back. Possibly a good product, but not if you happen to live in Europe. BH

Wow! Gets results.. but a big commitment
My husband and I have just finished the 90 days and it has made a big transformation. This is a major commitment in time and money. You will need the proper nutrition to fuel the programme and it takes time to prepare. You also need over an hour a day to train - most of the workouts are an hour, but three days a week you have the Ab Ripper to do as well, which is just over 15 minutes. The Yoga is also an hour and a half and there's nothing relaxing about it! We found the time by getting up early to train before work and we swapped some of the days to fit around family. The workouts are sets of 30 second or 1 minute exercises and move on quickly. As they say - you can do anything for 30 seconds! Tony Horton is a little cheesy, but actually really encouraging - you can work hard or hold back as you choose (but you wont want to hold back!). We had to buy some equipment - a chin up bar and some dumbbells, and you will need some recovery drink (it really, really makes a difference!) but there are cheaper ones than the P90X recovery drink, if you shop around. I'm not going to post photos, I was only a size 8/10 when I started anyway. I lost 5 pounds of fat and gained 6 pounds lean body weight (it's advisable to buy a set of body fat callipers!) and I feel so strong. I couldn't do any pull ups when I started but I can do them now and I've also grown in confidence. I'm much leaner and fitter and I feel that, now that I can set my own schedule, I know how to maintain it. We didn't end up sticking strictly to the recipes in the nutrition plan, but I do feel better educated about how and what to eat. A great programme, but not for the faint-hearted!
