I have always enjoyed Taste of home recipes. This book is no different, but it has the added bonus of carb counts,so important when planning meals for a diabetic family member. Great addition to my growing diabetic cookbook library.

Great cookbook - just what I was looking for. It is really hard to find a cookbook that isn't keto - it is not necessary to stop eating carbs when you are diabetic, you just need to get most of your carbs from fruit and non starchy vegetables, but you can also eat some starchy foods such as fruits, grains and whole wheat pasta. Of course, everyone is different - what works for us may not work for someone else. My husband is diabetic and there is no way he would stick to a Keto diet. I needed something with basic, standard home cooking recipes. That being said, the recipes do use sugar and some other carbs that don't fit in his diet, so some will require substitutions, but that's OK. Sugar is used in many of them, but I will just sub a sugar substitute in those cases. There may be other substitutions needed (just got the book today, so haven't looked in depth at the recipes). Overall, though, good basic recipes to work off.
