Great tires all round
I train and race solely on paved roads. I’ve been riding Continental tires for as long as I can remember and these tires continue that tradition. These are fast, durable and come in a variety of sizes. I currently ride 30mm and they are really comfortable. Can’t say you’ll never have a flat but I’ve ridden two sets of these tires over the last 3 years and have not had a tire related flat. I ride deep section wheels and had a valve stem extension loosen causing a flat a year ago. Great tires, you’ll like them!

The best tires for road bikes
Amazing tires for road bikes

Superior ride quality
Replaced rock hard Conti Gatorskins. Worth giving up a little puncture resistance in favor of a grippy comfortable ride on rough Texas chip seal roads! Night and day difference in ride quality. We use these GP5000 on all the bikes in our riding group.

Very Grippy, Very Comfy
I upgraded from worn out 23mm tires. These were a little difficult to get on, but you will get through it as long as you have decent tire levers (Pedro’s). These has less rolling resistance than my previous tires, took less air pressure so are significantly smoother and comfier on the road, and I can take turns so much faster & harder. These tires transformed my bike.

GP5000s purchase # 4 and now purchase #5
Been riding GP5000 for atleast 5 years and they are a good value. This last pair was over a year old and I was hoping/ anticipating to get a flat to force me to changed them out. It was a mercy killing when the new pairs arrived 3 days later. Of course getting these tires on a rim is no easy matter and the hardest part is the last. But if u roll this portion over the rim with just your palms( towel style) u can stretch the tire then use the levers to finish it on. Of course you'll need strong hands but with this technique I mounted both tires in under 30 mins. The motivation of the ride on a new pair of GP5000s plays a major part in lessening the frustration. After riding almost a year with 50k to 100k per week, I finally decide to change my tires when I didnt feel as confident on some of the many downhills i take in SF. The GP5k dont look used up but I noticed 2 huge cuts in both tires. No doubt Ive put these tires thru hell and I replaced 2 inner tubes on the rear. I dont really care about weight so tubeless is not an issue for me. I was gonna try a different brand, but the last time I tried to step away from GP5000; not pleasing and in the rain. Then I remembered how brand new GP5000 feel... worth the money.

Buttery soft ride and +20% to your speed
These tires are light, durable, soft in terms of ride and road feel, an oh boy they are fast! If you are looking for some free speed to add over your heavier tires that came with the bike - this is the best choice for a road bike!

Nice tires. Just put them on. Better ride than the 25’s I took off. Maybe a bit slower, but more comfortable.

As an experienced amateur cyclist and mechanic, I was impressed initially with the Continental Grand Prix 5000 tires. However, my first ride ended abruptly at 60km with a loud blowout that busted the sidewall, rendering the tire unusable. Having used tires that lasted thousands of kilometers without issues, this was disappointing. I used Continental Tubes and ensured correct installation. Another reviewer also had a first-ride flat, which is concerning. While flats can happen, the extent of the damage was surprising. Based on this experience, I'm hesitant to recommend these tires, but I'll give them another chance and monitor their performance closely. I'll also be contacting Continental's customer support for assistance.
