My daughter loves them!
My daughter was obsessed about Tom Gates books, but I wanted her to read more books where it teaches her who she is and the community she comes from. The Maliks were by far the best success! She reads the stories over and over and she cannot wait for the newest book which will be released soon.

Great read.
I got these for my young grandsons & they absolutely loved the book & the others in this series. The books are not so big that it becomes a chore. Good print & a perfect size for my grandsons to enjoy.

My 9 yr old son's favourite book series - loves gaming + YouTube + HATES READING! Thank you Zanib!
You have to know… this is my 9yo son’s favourite book series… he’s a reluctant reader, loves gaming and YouTube… and this, thanks to the BRILLIANT creative crew who make this series, is what he wants me to read to him every night (and when we’re waiting for the next one, it’s onto the next Grimwood). PURE JOY!! + I’m so pleased that Zanib got in touch to tell me that book 3 will be out in August. Not too long to wait!! This is book 2 in the hilarious crime-busting caper adventures of Maysa and Musa, twins who balance each other like mustard and mayonnaise… and together with next-door neighbour BFF Norman, they end up on more than one wild goose chase before solving mysteries at the Mosque! With more twists and turns than a sidewinder doing a salsa, Maysa & Co are in a race against time to solve the disappearance of the Imam… one minute he was there and the next minute he’s vanished!! If you are familiar with book 1, then you won’t be surprised to know that Maysa gets herself into a bit of a pickle… sometimes she just doesn’t tell the truth and then can’t stop the snowball effect… however when it’s something as important as Dad’s passport renewal for a vital work trip, then, yikes, it’s a desperate situation… how can their fun-loving, friendly, and kind Imam be missing? What does the nosey-neighbour over the road know, and why is Mrs Qureshi behaving rather odd (and I’m not referring to her massive wedgy on page 7)? Favourite fun characters from book 1 are back, like Mr Saleh, the Mosque caretaker, and Zayaan Butt (always gets an intended giggle), the policeman. This is a SUPERB series. Perhaps you might already have read and collected Zanib Mian’s ‘Planet Omar’ series. Filled with references to normalised daily life of a Muslim family in the UK, you’ll love the double spread guide to the rooms with in a Mosque, the references to some delicious cultural food, the illustrations featuring a representation in Children’s literature of the inclusive society we live in. Knowledge is power. If you’re reading this as a Muslim or someone who identifies with these characters as part of their heritage then this is just the biscuit (…cookies ref to book 1). If you’re not, and then this is a brilliant #OwnVoices series to help prevent bias or dispel Islamophobia amongst our young people. I love this fun, giggly, and meaningful detective series.

Amazing and extraordinary lovely book
My son loved Meet the Maliks book 2. He wrote the following review: I really enjoyed this book because it kept me on my toes and wondering what was going to happen next! All of the chapters ended in cliffhangers which made it almost impossible to stop reading!! I remember when Dad started talking about crispy parathas in the book, I asked my Mum to make parathas for dinner. My favourite character was Norman because he was hilarious! I remember laughing like Mum did in the book at the thought of Imam Abdullah being in the evil diamond trade and I laughed even harder when he though Mrs Qureshi was the diamond crime boss. I recommend this book to the people of all ages even 100 years old who like comedy , mysteries or who wants to read a fun book.

Representation matters
Little nephews loved this. It’s paced just right for them and is full of excitement. They love to read Zanib’s books as they see themselves in the characters. Representation matters and it’s imperative that little ones realise they have fun and cheekiness to offer too as well as have the right to take up space! Another brilliant adventure from Zanib Mian! Wonderful 🫶🏽

great page turner for the kids
I read this to my daughters as their bed time story over the course of a few days. We usually only read one chapter but they were always asking for another! A great page turner and engaging book
