300053068 Electric Motor 540 Sport Tuned

Upgraded my sand vipers silver can 540. Very noticeable improvement in torque and top speed with 17t pinion. The car is really rapid now ! Definitely fast enough me.

I have bought two of these in recent weeks. I have fitted one to my MF01X Golf and another to my TL01 chassis. They work perfectly and a marked improvement over a basic silver can. I have put the torque tuned from the Golf in a Hornet. For the money I recommend these and mine came on the same day as ordering. When I ordered they only were about five pound more than the alternative torque tuned motor which are also good.

Dug the old RC car out the parents loft which still had the stock motor and battery inside it. Purchased a new battery and seen this motor listed on the upsel Amazon page. Battery came and I relived the boyhood RC car moment again, all good. Then I though I'd try this for £13. It took a while to come (around 3 weeks) and I swaped it out for stock motor. It was a straight foward replacement as I had a little trouble with it as the pin is a little shorter than my stock motor. To get around this I put my pinion on the other way around and use a few washers to align the motor with the clutch wheel, which was nice to get the old computer hands dirty a bit. Fired it up and it now shoots like a rocket. I'd say 30-40% faster! My car even struggles to turn at speed it goes that quick. For £13 its worth the wait and the fiddling about to get it on.

This is a top torque motor, so be careful if you’re inside gears of the RC car are plastic. It shredded my original plastic gears. But now I’ve installed metal ones, this motor is an absolute beast on my 4WD Tamiya Hotshot II. Just be cautious of what I said previously. And you can never use enough gear lubricant, in my opinion. The slicker the gears, the better it runs for a more consistent period.

Fitted on a Tamiya Grasshopper reissue (with ball bearing upgrade), this dramatically changed the car! Speed has gone from good to insane (for this car), as a result you cannot be full throttle anymore, the car would very easily roll over when turning if there's a bump on the road. I had the original Grasshopper when I was a kid, with a standard 540 motors, I don't remember the car going that fast and being so prone to rolling over. I'm working on improving the suspensions to help it cope with the new power, but this is great fun! Only downside is the car now requires some proper driving skills, not fit for my <10 years old kids anymore.

Slotted in place after purchasing a pinion and it just worked. It is much quicker than the silver motor that my grasshopper came with, the take off speed is around the same but top end has improved alot.

I swapped this into my Lunchbox and took it out for a drive today. I had to completely adjust my style as the increase in speed made it much more likely to roll and flip compared to the standard silver can. A substantial improvement in performance for a very low cost.

Classic motor upgrade for your 1/10 RC car. I used this to replace the stock motor on my vintage Tamiya Frog and it works great. I think they cost less now than when I looked at them in the 80's!! Or maybe I just have more money now and it only seems that way! Either way, it's a great value to get better performance out of your car.
