Silky Saws are Awesome
Silky saws are awesome, I own 2 pocket boy saws that I use for my work as an outdoor instructor. My son who works as a traditional oak timber framer kept borrowing one so when his birthday came around I asked if he would like his own silky saw... he decided that this slightly longer GOMBOY would be better for him. These saws cut so easily and smoothly. Silky saws cut on the pull (not the push) and are a dream to use. The grippy handle is also good and the build quality is high. The down sides are: They aren't cheap! Replacement blades are very expensive.

A cut above the rest
Having used a Bahco Laplander for a few years I wanted to try the other most recommended brand for Bushcraft and general outdoor use. I am not disappointed, the blade is crazy sharp, has a comfortable handle and the blade lock allows multiple blade positions (useful when cutting close to the ground). The plastic case is a useful addition to keep the saw safe and stop you leaving it on the ground unecessarily. I now prefer this to my trusty old Laplander but the Bahco still has the edge on price. Is it worth it? Yes, would I buy another? Yes

The cut on this bad boy surpasses anything I have used to date
Wow!!!!. The cut on this bad boy surpasses anything I have used to date. OK, so the saw is new and the blade is freshly razor and dangerously sharp, but what a smooth cut it produced. Baring in mind the person who cut this for me is not into d.i.y or heavy odd jobs, cutting or such. So the image is from them. It indeed cuts like a hot blade through butter, believe it!!! Requires no effort at all as it's all on the pull stroke reducing the stiff awkward tension with conventional saws. And is easy to use light and with some grip. It's better than your conventional saws with and without double serated teeth both of which I've used and are a lot bigger and nastier to look at. I would consider the tool for d.i.y jobs bushcraft in ( which will be it's main goal) because it's compact and easy to use and sharper as well as leaving a smoother finish. Why did I choose this product???? I did some pretty extensive homework on this saw before buying it because I'd heard mixed reviews on this product. The obvious choice was the baco laplander which is like the saw of all bushcraft kinds they use. Rather than go with the status quo I decided to weed out the top two. I eventually went with the silky gombo 240( but with intentions of the 210 but chose a longer blade) because of the cut and stainless steel construction. In my opinion it seemed to do a job quicker and neater. And it looked bad ass. The whole thing is sturdy and strong with chrome plated latch for dropping the blade and a thick heavy rubber handle and the ability to loosen the tension of bladed

Cuts like a beast
I'd already bought a Silky Pocket Boy having watched a YouTube channel (Thanks Lars) and was amazed how easy it cuts through anything that is wood. For slightly bigger adventures I went for the Gomboy 240 (MM) as it is just that bit bigger for pruning bigger stuff where I don't feel safe with a chain saw and holy cow I am hardly using the chain saw. By the time you check over the saw, prime it, start it, warm it up the Gomboy's cut through the branch. Silky saws cut on the pull stroke. I cut and prep a lot of fire wood as we have a wood burner. Hence to say I will never ever pick up a bow saw ever again. With a 240mm long blade that folds into the handle it is still very portable in a back pack for camping or hiking. Once you use a Silky you'll never look back.

Pricey but worth it.
Great Japanese made saw, works fantastic, great quality but it is reflected in the price, replacement blades are only a couple of pounds cheaper than a new saw so that’s something to consider if you will use it on a regular basis.

This is the best folding saw I've ever used! It is sharp as all hell and rips through logs of small 1-4 inch diameter with almost no effort, it is capable of cutting through bigger stuff, but you have to be carefull as it becomes much easier to bind the blade on thicker 5 inch and up logs. As a million reviewers have already mentioned it only cuts on the pull, so your push stroke needs to be pretty gentle since that is where you are putting the most strain on the blade and you could bend it, this really shouldn't be a problem for you if you unless you are a total bonehead. Basically if the blade is starting to get stuck you are either cutting something too thick, or you need to put some downward pressure on the the piece you are trying to cut off cause the wood is pinching the blade. The grip is super comfortable, and the locking mechanism seems very strong and is easy to use. The blade has double rows of teeth that are scary sharp and very nicely machined, it looks like it ought to last a good while before I have to replace it, honestly I don't think your average person would be able to sharpen it without special tools, but maybe I'll see what Google has to say on the subject. Overall I'm pretty impressed with the design and quality of this tool, I've carried it on my last few backpacking trips and it's already become an essential part of my kit. If you order this from a Japanese seller like I did just keep in mind that it will take about 3 weeks for you to get it. I'll update this review in 6 months or so to give some idea of how well my silky holds up.
