And, depending on your particular take, you might not find Lennon Legend quite hitting the mark. However, since it does contain the brilliantly scathing "Working Class Hero", doesn't ignore the woefully underrated Rock 'n' Roll album, and catches the hopeful renewal that came toward the end of his foreshortened life, it's probably about as close as anyone's going to come. His great songs shine, meditations like "Imagine" and his rockers had form and content, as in "Whatever Gets You Through the Night". The DVD title says it all... a legend.
A good compilation of John's back catalogue. The one video I didn't like was 'Happy Xmas (war is over)'. Yoko has decided to include a really graphic video about war and the injuries sustained from it! This video has nothing to do with Xmas whatsoever! Why she couldn't just include the original one with the Harlem Choir I don't know. So I've deducted a star for this. A great Lennon song ruined by an inappropriate accompanying video. This doesn't take away anything, from the great music that's still contained in this compilation. A good addition to anyone's collection.

Masterful
This is probably the best compilation of John Lennon's work that I have heard. Twenty wonderful songs have been placed in perfect order to provide a balanced and representative collection and a fantastic listening experience of this man's genius. The sound quality is very good, unlike one or two other compilations I have heard, and really just the mainstream songs have been selected, leaving out some of the whackier stuff produced with Yoko (which are still works of genius but not really representative of his work - though John would probably disagree!). His voice just cuts right through you in many of the songs and is surely one of the greatest rock/soul voices of all time. The songs themselves seem to just get better with time and will resonate with every generation for ever. If only John had not been taken from us - what a collection of songs we would have now! But this will do for now John and thanks for everything!
